JD Secret Wine #598 down from $320 to $49.97 is Chateau Yaldara 1847 Grand Pappy’s Shiraz 2019 (RJ97,SK97).
We shared a 2018 vintage and it really exceeded my expectations. Was a very well made wine with ample length and finish. I bought it in Langton's sale last year for $30 just for fun to try.

I got to the finewineco garage sale first thing on Saturday morning and was a bit disappointed with the selection. It was smaller than the last one I went to (pre-covid) and they didn't have much premium stuff on offer.

I ended up buying a cases of Giant Steps and Nanny Goat estate-level Pinots and Chardonnays for sub $30 p/b which is OK. Also got some Louis Jardot Mercurey for ~$40 p/b. I was on the lookout for some Shaw & Smith, Hickinbotham, Yangarra, Stonier etc but didn't see any.

Secret Wine # 600 from JD today is I've been snapping up too many "dead-set bargains" of late but at $17 a bottle this certainly appeals...
"It’s that luncheon Claret feel, bright fruit, glossy texture, slurpiness with tempering from a wrap of fine, silty tannin. It’s fragrant in classic cassis, violets, bay leaf and currants with similar flavours lightened with a saltbush and bay leaf herbal lift. I found this quite compelling drinking in the vein of more pure, fresher cabernets and with tension in tow. Very good."

That is def one .. Although RRP is $32.50
