I had low-ball expectations but actually found it to be not too shabby. The flavour profile immediately jumps out at you as being from somewhere other than Australia in origin, smokey notes with more savoury than sweet fruit, controlled use of oak, more mid-weight than heavy-weight but otherwise quite a serviceable drop but as usual YMMV

Out of interest, what vintage did you get?

I think this wine caper is very much down to personal taste, just received a sixer of the Alsace Wolfberger Pinot Gris for the same price and retailer for my partner and at $5 a bottle is really quite slurpable, and that's coming from another confirmed red wine bigot

Yeah LOL, there's 40% or so off bad wolf blass stuff and one Japanese blended whisky claimed to be 65% off. What a swizz. I'm still so cross with Aramex for smashing my clonakilla and now this that I'm done with capitalism and am going to not buy anything more ever again and instead just drink the cellar out... Was nice knowing you guys

I have, and requested all reds (which they accommodated).

this was my box last time, the 2016 Touriga is top notch (I still have the 2x 2018), Shiraz was good, and Pinot I can't remember though it's placed on my shelf in the "nothing great" section.
