Dan Murphy's and Other Wine Deals

Anyone else having problems on the DM site, getting repeated GR11 screen when scrolling on their site, beyond me how my computer could have got to this stage of repitition over the last week or so.

Has been occurring since I click&collected 1/2 Doz of this wine.

It also seems to be impossible to send them an email of complaint, no email address under "Contact" on their site.

Langtons have a nice intro to Margaret River pack. $18pb after CR:

https://www.langtons.com.au/product...abernet-dozen-cabernet-sauvignon?basket=35609

All solid picks imo. I suspect you might get them slightly cheaper if you waited for the right deals, but I suspect not by much.
Dunno about this twelver. Eating a quick subway for lunch so no notes, but I seem to remember the girt by sea was girt by mediocrity. I think you are netter off with six to eight thirty buckers from dans.

Hard to win against wines that cost almost twice as much ;-)

FWIW i've tried and enjoyed all of these. The Parterre and Woodlands are the standouts.

Almost wish that I was in Canberra this weekend for the [post=1525453]Riesling Challenge[/post] - but then they don't have [post=1519641]Pinot Palooza[/post] for me to enjoy :)

What are the picks atm on The Den?

What is the Pike Riesling like?

The best bargain is perhaps Pikes Los Companeros Shiraz Tempranillo 2014 for $12.26/bt (or $8.92/bt using $20 welcome credit), otherwise besides their Eastside Shiraz, at the same price as the Pikes Riesling are the 2015 Coriole Nero, Sangiovese, and Fiano - other suggestions were posted [post=1469159]here[/post]

I also discovered when I logged into The Den to help answer you, that I have been upgraded now to issue invitations, so feel free to pm me if anybody would like one :)

Xanadu 2013 Cabernet Sauv https://www.crackawines.com.au/product/2013-xanadu-mr-cabernet-sauvignon?scrollto=tabs

down to around $25 a bottle delivered using voucher code PARTY for $30 off + 5.60% cash rewards.

Two weeks ago I returned from a week's tasting in Margs and this was perhaps the best mid tier Cabernet I tasted all week. Have just boomed on this and glad I neglected to buy any at $37 as it was on the cellar door.

Great wine and bargain at $25..

I know Cracka has a 50% offer a couple of weeks ago but pretty sure this wine wasn't available then.

Both the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2014 Chardonnay were available for ~$23 (excluding Cashrewards) from Cracka and My Wine Guy when the $50 codes were valid as posted [post=1520252]here[/post] - sorry :( but I only mentioned the [post=1516542]chardonnay[/post] because it's perhaps better/value, besides me not buying/drinking much [post=1503595]cabernet[/post] [post=1510823]anymore[/post]

Still available however no mention of wooden case. You would have thought they would have "shout" about the case. ;)

Or ~15/bt if you have a $50 voucher via Vintec :)

Thanks pilatus, worked out eventually it was my clicking to either side of the page content to engage the scroll
arrow, seems DM has both sides pre loaded with a GR11 short cut.

Quite annoying and haven't experienced that on their site before.

I've just made my first purchase on the Den and with $20 off introductory offer it brought my 6 Bottles of St Hallett Single Vineyard Hampel Shiraz 2013 down to only $64 (free shipping too) haven't got a clue whether I've made a boo-boo* but the teensy bit of info I've gleaned on-line made it sound OK....

*by boo-boo I mean that I haven't knocked on Mr Hallett's cellar door for quite some time and am basing my purchase on previous drops like the Faith Shiraz or Old Block, I don't suppose any AFFers have knocked back any of the Hampel SV Shiraz? (also read reviews/references to Kalimna which is somehow reassuring...)

Offers of The Den invitations have been deleted.
Referrals must only be posted in the Referrals sub-forum.

What's the difference between an invite and a referral?

In this case Lion controls who can invite new members, how many invites you get, and what bonus (if any) you get for someone signing up. If there were no bonus, would it be acceptable to post here? Just want to confirm, as there are other "family and friends" sites out there (e.g. TWE, Torbrek etc. that also control their membership). As long as the poster gets no benefit, is it OK to post here? I suspect not that many people here check the referrals thread.

Not to worry FWIW the irony was I missed those previous deals because I was actually tasting in Margaret River for the week. Tasted both the Xanadu Chardonnay and Cabernet and thought the Cab was a much better wine relatively and still content having paid a fraction more at $25.

The Girt by Sea isn't great. The Woodlands 2014 Cab Franc Merlot was much better than their Cab Sauv merlot IMHO.

Apologies for not quoting accurately here, on my phone.

These deals that I keep reading about on these threads over the past 6 weeks are killing my wallet

Forget the self imposed buying ban.. It has now reached wife imposed

Any invitation that rewards the poster with any form of benefit is regarded as a referral and must only be posted in the referral sub-forum: Referral posting guidelines

Examples include credit card sign on bonuses, AirBnB referrals and so on.

Invitations or general discount codes that have no reward are ok to post.

There is also the 'free to good home' sub-forum for one off discounts.

Of late I have bought some

Wolf Blass Grey via DM a few weeks back

I jumped on the Maverick $6 bonanza ( This wine I really enjoy ) I prefer a couple of hours out of the bottle first with this.

Filsell through Cellermasters. Have not drunk any of this yet ( I do blame Steady a bit as he was discussing this earlier in the forum so I thought, why not give it a go )

Katnook Odyssey 2005 through Langtons ( This wine and vintage I love. Could drink it all day. ) It just has that awesome Cab flavour

I am not much for tasting notes and all that stuff so I struggle to compare against other wines / vintages. I actually just enjoy wine

Oh and don't forget the Wendouree order.
