Ok, not really ghost flights but I see CX regularly flying in and out of Sydney - especially CX111/CX110.
However, I can not find any revenue fare being sold on this flight for the whole year.
I do have CX111 award ticketed for May. Will my ticket be cancelled?
If it is cancelled they should be able to put me on another flight right?

Same with CX766 SGN-HKG. I can see multiple flights on flightradar but can't find revenue fare. Are these being flown without cabin crew and just for freight?

Not sure but when CX cancelled my CX/AY award flight to HEL last month, they rerouted us on QR the following day

My sources tell me that CX still carry some pax into SYD with CX111, just not out. Carry a fair bit of freight as well.

How do people get tickets for CX111?
Can't even find it on the CX website.

I did multiple dates now and only CX101 is the only flight advertised.

I didn't ask the flight numbers, was just told that some CX flights carry pax in, but none are carrying them out owing to the bans by Lam & Co.

Can confirm at least some HKG - SYD carry pax. A collegues husband is a CX pilot who flies that route on a regular basis.

This is the seat map from yesterdays CX101, it looks rather busy to me and I wouldn't be surprised if most flights are actually full with the few free seats being no shows.

The flight CX101 on the 3rd of Feb is also showing seats in J but not in Y further proving my above theory.

I can find CX101 ticket sales but can't find anything for CX111 even though it is flying regularly.

Let's not refer to ghosts on the eve of Chinese New Year!

Since April 2020 it's mainly CX139 and CX101 that have been used for passengers. At the moment it's just CX101 a few times a month.

I wonder when they will tell me I'm not allowed on this flight.
Should I contact them?

The call centre will just tell you the flight is operating. NS22 hasn't even been finalised...

This is one of the joys of booking awards in a pandemic - awards fall apart super easily if you don't know what you're doing.

NS - Northern Summer?

Alternatively, in the context of HK, NS22: when national security falls apart

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I think you need to be prepared with a back-up plan in case CX cancels both flights completely (which I suspect may be very likely).
