I need a book a one way flight between SIN and BKK in late September for myself and my daughter. I'd like to stick to a Oneworld Carrier if possible for this segment.

CX fare for this sector (economy, Y) is SG$1049 per person for a direct flight.

I'm able to fly the same route with TG for SF$858 for both passengers in J class.

Has anyone flown on this route with CX and do other class bookings (K,M,L,V) open closer to the date of departure?

Go to the Singapore CX website, they have specials:

No mileage though but you can use it as a starting point and work up to you do get miles:

Or a 3K Jetflex for SGD241.
You'll still get points and SCs, and J lounge access.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

This is one of those times when a LCC suits right down to the ground.

A one-way economy on CX is going to be expensive and is only going to earn 15 SCs and ~450 QFF points. Sure you can book a return flight and throw away the return portion but waiting around for a special could be a fruitless excercise. The other thing to consider is late September is when the Grand Prix is on in Singapore and that will keep airfares higher than usual.

Depending on your luggage situation an Air Asia flight can be relatively cheap although the TG flight in business class sounds quite good as well.

You'll still get points and SCs, and J lounge access.
As a Platinum should also get lounge access including guest even if flying a LCC although the one-way Jetflex fare looks cheap.

As a WP, YQY can get J lounge access if flying CX, 3K, TG or Air Asia, and even SQ if adding the 10 minute "commute" back to terminal 2.

It's actualyy 241++, ie 270SGD for the JetFlex fare. Unless desiring the flexibility or desperately needing the points, Jetflex seems to be just throwing money away - can get normal Jetsaver fare (luggage included) for as low as $83SGD. But still 270SGD with pts and 30 status credits better than 296SGD to fly on CX and get no points or status credits.
