Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

I think a burger is perfectly suitable for an F lounge. BA have had a “Concorde Burger” in their LHR F lounge equivalent for as long as I have been going there. And their vegan version is excellent.

Sometimes it is all about comfort food before or after a long haul flight.
I have just been through the Soho Lounge at JFK.

QR code menu is down to four items, three different burgers (two beef, one Veg.) or a pot of fries.

Christmas menu in SYD F lounge today (plus some Christmas vibes on board - our very bubbly FA in J on QF27 wearing sparkly red reindeer antlers and a special Christmas nail).

Christmas pavlova got the thumbs up from me (better than the coconut meringue which my companion had). Lamb shoulder and lamb bao both good too. And the Lallier rosé is a nice alternative to the regular stuff (and to the Jacquart swill onboard).

I also quite enjoyed the mushrooms/rice/dashi with poached egg from the breakfast menu but it was perhaps a smidge bland.

People can see from that menu shot that "Neil's American Cheeseburger" was allegedly voted the best burger in Australia.

Yikes! That judging panel should be sacked. On the strength of that claim, I tried it tonight but would have to say it is the very WORST hamburger I have ever had. It was nowhere near as good as any respectable suburban fish and chip shop could serve up.

Can recommend the Christmas pavlova though.

.
The Australian suburban chippie doesn't typically make American style cheeseburgers.

We have our own style.

That said, I wanna see that contest or what not where the NP burger won the award. How could none of the other contenders possibly have not put up a competitive if not better American cheeseburger....

Aah, OK. I stand corrected.

If you mean a soggy bun with a bland undercooked burger, topped with a slice of Kraft cheese and raw onions with 3 small pickle slices, than you are quite correct. fortunately, our chippies do not stoop to that.

The actual top rated burger joint is Margaret Cafe, not the QF Lounge. So expect some variation…
