I agree, of interest is the message saying PC Benefits apply, one could construe that to mean points, not that I am concerned at that rate with points!

In my experience, that message doesn't mean it is a point earning stay.

I would not construe such a conclusion. I have seen that response and still had the stay post as ineligible for points (such as a stay at CP Pelican Waters a few weeks ago).

This promo just screams "No points earning" (and for $99, I don't really expect it to anyway!). The reasons why I think that I've said earlier, including the huge % off the regular rate, the fact it isn't a standard "Advance Payment" type rate and the words "Special" being bandied around which in PC terms tends to mean no points.

That is my biggest gripe with the PC program - no easy way to tell an eligible or ineligible rate when booking. Sure you can ask when checking in or via emailing the hotel, but life should be easier for PC members who are paying up-front for a reservation in some cases.

don't rely on getting the correct answer from the check-in agent. I specifically asked about the eligibility of my rate for earning PC points when checking-in at the CP Pelican Waters a few weeks back. The agent went out back and checked with the manager and answer came back positive. But the stay posted as ineligible. And it was only 10% discount off the standard "best available" rate.

I booked a couple of nights in Sydney yesterday due to the 3 day sale for what I thought was a very reasonable 149. Went in this morning and its now 119, so much for PC members getting the deal early.

Yup...available before midnight. Just booked 2 rooms at CP Terrigal. The rate was $129 per room prior to the sale, so not as huge a saving as one might think....the savings might just cover a meal (without alcohol!)

Does not say anywhere that the rate does not qualify for points:)
Just to confirm that I got points for both of these rooms that I booked at $99 each:)
