On my QFF account I am on 230 Status Credits. I need another 70 to attain Silver in the next 25 days.

I have a flight BNE to POM (return) coming up in a week or so, but I think that only gives me 40 SC.

I have an internal flight in PNG but I dont think Air Niugini is a points partner with Qantas.

Any ideas how I can get to this mark without further flights?

Do you have Green Tier for 50 SCs?

Probably too late now if not.

It used to be doable in around 48 hrs but closer to 4 wks (or more now). But assuming you’re BNE based, there are a bunch of “Green” Accor Hotels in town but QF Hotels post 4 wks after checkout (although, I don’t know how long the Green leaf takes?)

I just stayed at Amore Hotel in Brisbane (booked via Qantas Hotels) on Aug 29-31.

This was booked last year for a QFF Points bonus of 5k. Not sure if it includes SC too, or how long it will take to appear in my account. I can't see anything yet.

You won't get SC from the hotel stay alone. You'd need to complete the other requirements for Green Tier as well (if you haven't already done so).

TBH, unless you've got lots of flights in the US coming up (where silver status can save you a fortune in checked bag fees on AS and AA), silver's not really worth it - its main benefits are priority check-in and a single lounge pass.

can i book it with points? i have about 14k sitting in my QFF atm.
You won't earn any SC on a Classic Award booking unless you are Points Club / Points Club Plus. Even then, it won't earn SC at the normal rate.

it is really worth it for silver status?
Agree with @MELso on this. You would get some additional baggage (weight) allowance as a Silver, but the really tangible benefits don't kick in until you reach Gold or higher.

If you fly about this much normally, I would say it is. You’ll only need 250 SCs to requalify once you have it.

You’ll get a 50% points bonus on QF, JQ and AA flights plus better access to seat selection.

If it’s a one off and you don’t think you’ll requalify next year then I wouldn’t worry about it.

cool. might not be worth the effort just for a lounge pass. i already have them via priority pass anyway. cheers

If you think you’ll get close again next year, consider Green Tier.

As @justinbrett mentioned, reattaining PS (or higher tiers) is easier than attaining them first time around. 50 SCs is a decent chunk of PS.

The (cheap) trick is to offset a short flight at the first available opportunity in the new member year. The actual flight could be months away, but if you pay the ~$2 (don’t use points), you should have 1 of 5 leaves within 48 hrs. There’s a free leaf in the QF Well-being app for doing a quiz.

Plenty of tips/advice here but as mentioned earlier, it is a bit harder now since they removed the home offset.
