I'm not understanding why the media think it's going back before the same judge as last time. It will be a completely different case, with a different respondent. I can't see any reason why it would automatically go back to him, unless he's the after hours duty judge both last week and this week?

He did make it clear he would find it hard to believe another judge could make themselves familiar with the case in the time required. But that said I think that comment is probably not particularly appropriate either.

I don't see why he should automatically be made the judge in the new case.

I’m hoping for the same judge. 😀

The BBC is reporting Novax will not have to spend the night in detention, but will have a meeting with immigration officials in the morning.

Same seat map as I showed yesterday, so far… so unless he did actually book in at that stage, he’s staying optimistic for now! 🤓
Hoping for Points upgrade maybe? At the gate even?

Well, this latest turn in the tennis saga has succeeded in taking the media attention away from the lack of RAT kits yet again.
It's much more fun though.

If he has no visa this isn't protocol.

"Australian court to decide on next steps shortly

An Australian judge is holding an emergency hearing shortly.
A directions hearing will be conducted at 20:45 Melbourne Time (09:45 GMT) before Judge Anthony Kelly of the Federal Circuit Court, the BBC understands.
It refers to a short court appearance where orders are made about what should happen next in a case."
