what update would you expect.

wk1. discussions continuing. can't provide timeframe for resolution or any further detail as commercial and in confidence
wk2. continuing to discuss with BA. details commercial and in confidence. timeframe for resolution uncertain
wk3. .....

QF were on a hiding to nothing whichever way they played it on this board, and I personally think they did the right thing remaining silent until they reached a resolution.

As to the commercial terms of the deal we will never know, but (merely speculating) may result in:
- more expensive QClub renewals
- two tiers of QClub - one for Australian access, one for BA/AA access
- a reminder to lifetime members that they purchased a lifetime "Qantas Club" membership, any other benefits may change from time to time

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Geez there are some ungrateful sod's on here.

Granted the solution did take 4 months, however if you do read through the thread, there has been discussion on how fine a line is on what communication is expected. Too little and you look disinterested or too much and you look to be bluffing.

For those wanting temp measures put into place, you make it sound so easy, however I don't believe anyone on here were privy to the negotiations that took place. It may not have been possible to put these measures into place.

I think The Winchester has penned it perfectly. The thanks should go to AFF for raising this issue, and for Red Roo for the work he has put in place trying to get the solution.

Sounds like the people wanting PAYG for JQ, yet complain about the new Business Max fare.

I have been thinking about who to respond to here and as this post is near the end of the thread it looked like a good one to pick on!

Everyone here is entitled to have and express an opinion. Just because it is in disagreement is no reason to call people ungrateful sods (or any other names).

thewinchester penned it perfectly IF you agree with his perspective on the subject, but I don't, so therefore it was a long way from perfect IMHO. He is however entitled to think that way just as I'm entitled to think the way I do.

With a basic release of information they could have put minds at ease, but they chose not to do so ans so the speculation continued to their detriment.

To say that these processes take months is correct but to use it as an excuse is not. All that is required is some communication every, say four weeks or some similar period.

Like you have said Bill, we are all entitled to our opinion.

To pick on a posts sound a bit like a school yard bully does it not?

You do mention the name calling, however I still feel that some of the tone from the replies were very ungrateful.

I understand that it is a contentious issue, and the opinions will vary, but I still feel that The Winchester is very fair in his comments. I could have named others who I have not agreed with, but I don't believe anything positive would come out of it.

Lets keep it simple....this has nothing to do with Red Roo!

QF is a business and as such they offer a service & price it accordingly.......the service provided changed without warning or notice to members. Allowing members and therefore, customers to continue to front for rejection is inexcusable.

They are no different to any other business and they should be judged accordingly.
