Hi all

Quick random question.. i have some complementry QC passes from a credit card.
I have an upcomming flight to hobart (from melb) and i want to use them on the return flight, since my outgoing flight it quiet early and i dont think i will have time to use them.
However when i went to link them, i could only see the first flight. Is this how the system works, Can you only select your nearest impending flight...
Thanks

It is frustrating. Had a friend I wanted to give an electronic voucher two for the second flight on a booking but it only showed the first flight. Ended up using a paper invitation.

Btw the lounge invitations aren’t accepted at MEL Domestic whilst the renovations are going on anyway.

QF's implementation of digital passes is just ridiculous. It'd be so much more user-friendly to simply have the first available pass taken from your account when you arrive at the lounge.

(I suppose they could use the pass linkage data to work out how many spaces they have left to sell off for a particular time of day or whatever...)

Had a friend who had problems linking the pass to the flight. The person a the door tried to get it fixed up to link it up. Eventually gave up and just let them in. So they have the pass to use another time. They werent in transit though. They were on a direct QF flight to their destination.

I wonder if anyone has found a solution to this. I have a similar problem coming up in a few months, as my wife and I are travelling J to Europe but Y on the return - both reward bookings thru QFF but on Cathay metal. I would like to use two of my passes for the return leg, but don't want to "burn" two passes on the way there when we have lounge access anyway.

Perhaps a way around this issue might be to allocate the passes after completing the outward leg but before the return leg? Not sure if anyone has tried this.

On a side issue, the conditions for the comp passes say it must be a QF flight number. Although I have booked reward seats thru QFF, the only code available was CX for my flights. However when I am logged into the comp pass area, it has the booking listed as an available option for allocation of my comp passes. So, not sure if I can use the QF lounge in HKG on the return stopover or not. I would rather allocate online rather than try my luck at the lounge entry.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The lounge invitations can't be used for CX flights. I don't think QF codeshares on any of their flights.

To use the invitation they need to be QF marketed flights (i.e. QF flight number) and reward bookings are always issued as being marketed by the carrier operating the flight (in your case CX).

Many thanks for your clarification.

You could try allocating online if it will let you, but I don't think they'd allow you to enter the lounge.

This is one of the reasons it's a good idea to have SG (or better) status. If going on a classic reward in Y on a partner airline if you have status you can still access the lounge your status gives you access to.
