Commercial airline routes that probably shouldn't exist

Another one I came across the other day: TACV, the national carrier of Cape Verde, will soon commence their second route to the US (after BOS). Now you may think of New York, IAD or MIA are the most logical major ports on the East Coast for them to connect to, but no: they'll be flying 3 times per week to Providence, Rhode Island, of all places! It will be the only international service at PVD when it commences on 2 June, with DE commencing flights to FRA two weeks later.
