What fares are comfort seats (QF & VA) available on? Can you buy comfort seats on a sale or discount fare?
I believe any fare, although it'd be a bit of a waste in PE, J or F.
Cost for a comfort seat booking (1 PAX) is $fare times 2 & $taxes/levies/surcharges (times 1).
If you book a flexible economy fare then 2 x Flexi SC's are earned.
Thanks for the replies. Do you know if the comfort seat could be bought on a sale fare or gain DSC's under such a promotion?
OK, thanks. So I 'd assume in the case of QF, that a comfort seat could also be bought through the business portal. May be a good option for acquiring extra SC's rather than flying a status run and flex plus a comfort seat may represent better value than J (given Dom J is not much better than Y with WP)
So another silly question, can one buy a comfort seat on a QF ticket, but JQ metal?
A comfort seat on JQ Y seems a bit of an oxymoron.
Probably no need to justify with Qantas - There's one member here I know that has a thin build with slightly above average height who attained WP (at least) primarily by use of Comfort seats.Do you need to justify why you want the comfort seat? ...
Do you need to justify why you want the comfort seat? I read recently about someone booking a comfort seat domestic airline in the USA (forget which one) and the gate attendant assessed he was not large enough to warrant an extra seat and revoked it, without initially offering a refund!!
That exact thing happened to me on a flight from SFO to LAX on Southwest.
I only purchased the comfort seats because the airfare dropped and I had received a credit that I had no other use for.
But as far as the agent was concerned, It was a paid for additional seat which they revoked without any compensation for the amount paid.
The only perk I was begrudgingly offered was a pre-boarding pass so I could get first pick of the seats.
I never bothered to chase it up with Southwest, but glad I didn't actually pay real money for it.
Peter.
If they have paid, they write in after the flight for a refund.
So in your case where it was revoked, you simply apply after the flight for a refund.
Despite what's in Southwests terms and conditions, the gate agent flatly told me that I am unable to claim any compensation for the money paid for the comfort seat, as I was not large enough to warrant an additional seat and should not have purchased one to begin with.
The flight was not full. There was no capacity reason not to provide me with the comfort seat I purchased.
Well, I Just rang to check. JQ don't do comfort seats.
But do do COS seats. Specific assistance | Jetstar
