Combined Marriott and SPG program

I just combined my accounts. Points combined straight away and logging in from both Marriott and SPG app still says Platinum Elite (was previously Gold).
Funny that using the Marriott app, can't see my reservations at Marriott chain hotels (including Ritz) and searching for hotels only show SPG ones. Using the SPG app can see all my reservations and searches also include Marriott and Ritz hotels.
 
If I was SPG Platinum via status challenge, mapped to Marriott Platinum before 18 Aug 2018, I should be Platinum Premier now right?
 
Plat Elite just seems to be the same benefits as the old Gold anyway.

Also, my Marriott bookings are showing on the Marriott App.
 
I thought old gold was being matched with new gold, which is a drop in status?
 
My account status:
SPG and Marriott accounts links before merger.

Got SPG Gold via AMEX card, then link through to Marriott Gold.

Now, both of the account still shows Gold. Got new member number for SPG account, points tripled. Accounts not combined yet.

Any ways for me to get Plat elite status for any of the account? Thanks

This status you have sounds about right. If you have Marriott Gold courtesy of SPG Gold, then you shouldn't be eligible for new Platinum Elite status.
 
Its an old loyalty problem.
Some people get a benefit not expected/justified from T&Cs. Someone else in apparently similar circumstances doesn't.
What should be done?
 
Had gold spg/marriott prior to merger via amex platinum; with one Marriott stay this year and another Marriott stay booked for xmas.

Post merger, marriott has become platinum elite (not expected), while spg remaining as gold elite (as expected). Not planning to manually merge my two accounts until my xmas marriot stay is completed, in case merging downgrades marriott platinum to gold to align with spg.
 
My SPG a/c was gold (via Amex) and my Marriott a/c was showing platinum yesterday, however both are now showing gold :(

I think they should be as per the plan. I am in a similar position and have platinum.

Well Marriott have given me their answer. Wait 2 days and put you back to where the T&Cs say you belong :(

When I logged into SPG tonight they issued me with a new membership number. The points were correct (x3) but the nights stay was showing as 38 instead of 40. I'd taken a screenshot of both SPG and Marriott accounts. I'll talk to them tomorrow, if the queues aren't too long.

I've got about 4 nights missing from the total as well, although if you add up the activity history they're there. Presumably just a glitch that they'll fix when they get around to it.
 
dang, seems they've corrected it. knocked back down to lowly gold.
 
Yep foggy, same happened to me... I had 'fingers crossed' for a day or so there, but thought once they got further along the systems integration that my status might go back to gold elite...

On the activity tab this morning, I noticed the message;
"Due to recent system updates, some recent stays may be missing. We are working to fix this as quickly as possible", so hopefully it repairs without ringing them. I'm giving them a week; until the dust settles.
 
Back down to Gold now. Wondering if merging the accounts have any impact. For example system sees old Marriott Gold so default maps to Platinum Elite but if merging account with SPG, further checks are done and so maps correctly back to Gold if you don’t meet stay requirements? Did those back on Gold combine their accounts?
Reservations on the Marriott app are a hit and miss, sometimes it shows, sometimes it doesn’t. SPG app shows everything. Not sure why it’s like that. It’s really just the same app with a different skin.
