Has anyone received their bonus points without having called Amex about it?

Given the standard message about doing the manual review monthly, and its now been over seven weeks since March 15th, surely some people should be seeing their bonus points from the manual review process starting to appear.

I was told 6-8 weeks from transaction date should see the points credited. When pushed for confirmation, he changed it to 8-10 weeks. Then when pushed for when my 18th March transaction should be credited he said allow another week after that! So his original 6-8 weeks has grown to 11 weeks. 11 Weeks is the end of May, and 11 weeks from the end of the promo is 15th September 2011, almost a year from the promo commencement of 2nd November 2010.

So I hold no expectation that points for my 18th March transaction will appear before the end of May and based on experience I am expecting to have to make several more follow-up phone calls . But I would like to be proven wrong.

Yet my transaction a few posts earlier didn't apply bonus points. Good to see a lack of consistency!

Had a $100 DSE transaction earlier this week. Posted with the usual 1.5x points for my card.

Not going to chase it up at the moment, but watching things carefully.

It won't be me proving you wrong. Tomorrow will be 10 weeks from my purchase on 26 Feb - still no bonus points allocated, despite several phone calls and being assured on the second call that I was correctly enrolled in the promo. Obviously I will have to follow up yet again next week.

Interesting that for some people the points seems to be posting immediately as they did when the promo started, and others of us are being told it has to be done manually and hence to 8 - 10+ week wait.

It would seem to me that your account has a different problem as my experience and others have reported that March 15th is when the automatic posting stopped. So your lack of bonus for a transaction in Feb would seem to be unrelated to the March 15th premature promo shutdown.

You are right, I think there may be a different problem. That was part of my discussion with Amex the first time I rang to chase up the points. I said that even if they accepted that the promo was finishing in March (which I was still contending) that my Feb purchase was still clearly eligible and asked why the points hadn't posted. They agreed that it was eligible, confirmed that I was enrolled in the promo, but trotted out the 8 - 10 weeks to post argument.

I rang AMEX on Monday to follow up on the missing points again. I was told that they would 'raise a case with the back office' for me and promised to phone me back.

Surprisingly I have just received the promised followup phone call. Today's version of when to expect the points is - 6-8 weeks after the 30 June So, back to waiting and will probably have to follow up August.

Same situation here...bought an ipad on release date in March and still awaiting bonus points allocation. Called thrice only to get a response...will look into it. This was after initially refusing to accept that the promotion was till June end. Guess have to wait till August...

I haven't received any of my x5 bonuses since 15 March. I'm also still waiting my 20,000 Edge card bonus, which was due in March.

I understand we can only see points upto 90 days old? What happens when DSE transactions becomes >90 days old? How will we chase the missing bonuses up?

Keep a copy of your statements and on-line views.

I have been chasing Amex for a while now on these bonus points.

Called them ~2 weeks ago and was asked to fax proof. I did the next day. Waiting, waiting and nothing.

Called again yesterday and was told that my fax was not distributed to anyone! The consultant sent an urgent email to marketing.

Recieved a call this morning that all bonus points will be honoured up until 30 June 2011 and will be paid 6-8 weeks after that date.

I hope you guys have not finished the current stock of gift cards.

Have been chasing up my March purchase points for the past couple of months. After numerous calls, was advised today that the Membership rewards section had stated the offer ended 31 Dec 10, and I was given bonus points until Feb as a positive gesture... Bollocks! Told them that I have proof of the offer, and they stated it was an error and they were not bound to fulfill it. Told them that other people have been advised that they would be credited the points, to which she said she does not think so... Asked me to write a written complaint...

Just ring again and get a different girl. I have been had pretty good responses by their CSMs as noted in this thread.

Actually popped into my local DSE tonight to buy a new mouse... and some gift cards! Not many left now though :shock:

Incase anyone is wondering what AV8 is talking about...

Has your DS store run out of DS Gift Cards? They work exactly the same as the generic Wish cards. The DS Gift Cards can be used at all the same places as a generic Wish card and its unlikely a DS store will run out of them.

I did see this the other week actually. I may just have to do that..

I did notice the stock that was left was pretty ratty. The salesperson couldnt work out why I just wanted the cards and not the backing paper

Actually have found them to be great gifts to staff!

D!ck Smith, Wish, Big W, Woolworths gift cards can be used in any of the stores mentioned including woolworths petrol.

If anyone is struggling with D!ck Smith running out of Wish cards/D!ck SMith cards then Woolworths/Big W have plenty.
