re: [closed for registration] 6 Points/$1 at Ðick Smith (over $50)

You quoted my post outlining how to make the transaction qualify. Purchase a $50 DSE Gft Card, which qualifies for the Amex bonus points promotion. Then use the Gift Card to purchase an iTunes card for $40 (getting $50 iTunes credit) and you still have $10 remaining on the Gift Card to spend on other things like petrol, groceries, beer etc at any other Woolworths, Big W, Caltex, BWS, Dan Murphy's etc.

I was thinking of purchases of more than 1, so you get the EDR points and the AMex bonus, after buying the wish card of course, and you are saving 20% on iTunes!

Anything that takes the total purchase over $50 will do the trick for the Amex bonus points promotion. Looks like your family and friends may be receiving iTunes cards for birthdays this year ;)

I wanted an iTunes card for one of the kids Christmas presents at the last minute. DSE was closed so I purchased it from Big W using my DSE-purchased Wish Card - so same end result. A shame I paid face value for teh iTunes card as this type of promotion was not operating in the few days before Christmas.

6 Points per $1 at Ðick Smith (over $50) [5 x Bonus points]

My mistake thought it was how to qualify for EDR points as well as MR bonus. Well, I wasn't sure hence the "?"

Just trying to say a $40 purchase doesn't cut it for EDR points but markis10 has got this covered.

I understood you NM.

re: [closed for registration] 6 Points/$1 at Ðick Smith (over $50)

If I didn't get it wrong gift cards purchase are excluded from the EDR deal.
Gift cards are excluded from earning EveryDay Rewards points when purchased but when using the gift card for say shopping at Woolworths then EveryDay Rewards points are earned for purchases over $30.

re: [closed for registration] 6 Points/$1 at Ðick Smith (over $50)

Has anyone made a donation to the Flood Appeal, using a wish gift card?

Woolworths are matching donations dollar-for-dollar, until midnight, Thu 20th January 2011.

FYI, I just made a donation at Woolworths using Wish gift card, no problem at all.
You can actually use the express checkout kiosk to donate. Just select charity donation then Salvos flood appeal.

Was flicking around the AMEX Bonus Partners website and noticed the **** Smith promo has gone. I haven't purchased anything from **** Smith (wish cards in particular) since before Christmas, so just curious if any members are still getting the bonus points.

Yes bonus points are still posting.

re: [closed for registration] 6 Points/$1 at Ðick Smith (over $50)

I purchased my year-long $500 Gift Card the other day. Full points with bonus credited within a few days.

<Mr Burns> Excellent. :)

Sorry, i was looking at this thread the other day and went to *** smith's and american express websites and didn't mention it, so does that mean the offer has expired?

I would say it's expired but if you've registered points are still posting.

Offer is still current till June, but registrations have closed I believe.

Does anyone know if DSE price match?

My girlfriend is looking to buy a new laptop and has found one but it's at officeworks.

I have offered to buy it for her to get amex points (didnt tell her about 6 per $1 :D) but DSE are $200 more!

Thanks for that. Ended up spending $1200 there so should get the points which will give me enough to get a MEL>HAN redemption :D

Going to have to chase this up again.

Data points:
* Signed up on my Platinum Credit Card.
* Card lost - had a new card generated with a different number
* Noted that transactions from **** Smith were posting in "My Points" on my account, but 5 bonus points per dollar were not.
* A few calls to Platinum Credit Card Service and a couple of weeks, and the points were eventually manually added, and new transactions were crediting instantly as they should be.
* Recently registered for Platinum Charge Card - have kept Platinum Credit Card, but note that points under Platinum Credit Card accrue under the new Platinum Ascent program associated with the Charge Card.
* Bought an item at **** Smith, and made sure to use the old Platinum Credit Card
* Points posted, but no bonus points again.

I'm sure I'll get this sorted, but irritating that the moment anything changes on your account, the points stop posting.

Just another favour, if anyone can help - does anyone have a screen grab of the original promotion? I think I might, but can't seem to find it.

American Express are now trying to suggest to me that the promotion ended on 31st December, and so they won't accept any more bonus points for further transactions under the promotion. If anyone can PM me, I'd be really grateful.
