Close to retaining HHGold - maybe ...

I am not sure if I am reading the rules correctly. I am currently HHGold and I know I have Gold status until the end of March so all our nights in early 2024 will have Gold status.
I have 12 nights in 2023 and I have 18 night booked between mid January and end of February 2024.
That will add up to 40 nights before end of March.
Am I clutching at straws? Do all the 40 nights to retain Gold need to be completed before the end of 2023 or will the nights on early 2024 help to make up the 40 nights?
I have searched widely for a Fast track to Gold but with no luck.

Stays/nights from Jan 2024 will count towards 2025 status. But, you’ll have Gold benefits still for those Jan / Feb bookings.

I am in a different position. I think I may well get an offer for fast track gold. Have just spent 5 nights at the Hilton Osaka as that’s where our family wanted to stay. I wasn’t thinking much about it until I paid for the 3 rooms. Had 1 stay at the HGI Frankfurt earlier in the year and ended up just 3500 points short of getting gold.

As discussed in another thread, if you fail to get gold, the surplus nights after silver will be rolled over - although it sounds the surplus is only 2 so not much help.

But then you say 12 nights in 2023 + 18 nights in Jan/Feb; that only adds up to 30 anyway, not 40.

If you actually have 28 planned in 2024, then you'd get the 2 rollover nights, and need an extra 10 to get gold - but at least you would keep it until Mar 26.

Yeah, I seem to recall last year it showed one status and then a few days later said you didn't make the cut, so back down a level for you come April!

The downgrade should appear as a separate message, it won't change as your actual status until it's effective.

I got a popup saying I'm keeping my status.

Well Hilton doesn't want me as a member. My status is showing a drop from Silver to member as I only had 7 nights. But 71000 base points which should definitely see me retain Silver.

That's an impressive amount of base points - AUD$1513 per night! Which property?

No it was because I paid for 2 other rooms at the Hilton Osaka plus Christmas lunch for 7, You get base points but not nights for the extra rooms.

Maybe because it was so late in the year it hasn't registered yet. If your app showed the base points credited against your account prior/on 31 Dec then it should work out fine. That's what these three months are for.

Checked out of the Hilton 37/12. Points posted 31/12 but still a hopefully temporary downgrade to member.
Checked out of CP Kanazawa 30/12. Points posted 1/1 and on 2/1 an email congratulating me for retaining Diamond. I did it via points and not nights.

The “January Hilton Honors Monthly Statement” email that should have arrived o/n explicitly says on mine that my Tier expiration expires “21 Mar 2025” - so that’s reassuring.

Mine says I am silver and that expires in 2023. No idea where they got that, or the number of points in the email, from.
