 Didn't read your post properly. Now I see the problem....
I recall seeing this once before I applied, and thought I had missed out on the 80000 points, however when I checked back a couple of days later it was back to 80000.
If the call centre was competent I would suggest that you phone and check with them, but sadly they aren't competent.

Shows 60k for me too, perhaps call them up and confirm.

I just noticed the 80K turning into 60K during the application process. I used the online chat facility and the conversation with Liana at Citibank went as follows:

Liana ( Citibank) This is a known error and we are looking to update the page as soon as possible. The application form simply displays the incorrect amount of points however if applying via the link you have provided above there are no problems.

(Me) So it is 80000 points then?

Liana ( Citibank) Correct. The offer you receive is dependent on the link you apply from.
Liana ( Citibank) This is simply just a discrepancy regarding the number of points displayed being incorrect. However you will receive the offer.

(Me) Thanks

So, it looks like you have to definitely use the link from Omarko_man (#161) to get the 80k

and now as my almost complete application timed out waiting for the chat I'm now off to start again.....

Really, I've not had a single problem through the whole process. I completed the application and was approved in a matter of days, no supporting papers needed. Card arrived followed by pin soon thereafter. Spoke to a lady on the phone and opted into QFF programme without a drama and she confirmed the 80k join offer as soon as I'd made a transaction. Points have appeared in account and are there to be transferred in a few weeks. Only the final hurdle to jump with the transfer and I am home free.

I have not experienced any of the horror stories detailed by others!

SWMBO is up to receiving her pin with no hitches to date so hopefully another 80k follows soon!

:)

Application commenced: 11/03/14
80k QFF points received: 22/04/14

Thanks Citi! Bye Citi! :)

SWMBO however has been waiting patiently for new PIN for 2 weeks and it's not appeared so she will be calling them tomorrow.

....

Much the same experience here. My card was sent out on 29 March 2014, rang to activate, confirmed the 80K bonus and gave them my QFF number. My first statement period ended yesterday and the 80K hit my QFF account today. Can't complain.

I won't cancel straight away though. I will opt out of QF direct and keep for the year at least for 1pt/$ VA/SQ non-ATO spend.

Application commenced: 20/01/2014
Points credited: Still not credited
Number of calls to call-centre: 5+
Complaint filed with Ombudsman 27/04/2014

A shocking customer service experience. I can't believe they are still in business.

Hard to understand how there can be such different experiences of the same promo from the same organisation. I, like a few others who have posted here had a seamless experience. If they can get it right for some why can't they get it right for everyone?

It seems that somewhere in every business there is good and bad experiences to extremes. Casual staff not trained properly? Staff just not trained properly full stop? Just mention MASA! :)

Absolutely agree a lot of this comes down to the staff, however it is unfortunate that their systems seem to allow for such a lot of discretionary staff decision making. In rjh666's case that unfortunately has involved 5 staff members.

80k lobbed into my QFF account, so mission accomplished.

Has anyone cancelled and got a refund of the fee?

Yaha....... :)

Re: Citibank Signature 80k QFF signup bonus $299+$49, ends 31/03/14 [Extended - 3...

Yes. I told them I already had a different card with the same points systems. There were no extra incentives to keep the same card. :)

That's what I learnt from the guys in this thread ....

My mates have told me that the promo is now 60K ... is that true?

what did you say to get the refund? I'll try this week once points have come through. Did they refund all of it?

Re: Citibank Signature 80k QFF signup bonus $299+$49, ends 31/03/14 [Extended - 3...

Roughly how long did it take after activation?
I started the application on the 23rd March; approved on 2nd April, and I received and activated the card a few days after that.

You could tell them anything plausible, it really doesn't matter. In my case I complained about the SMS security feature to view your account details - very frustrating and coughbersome. But ultimately I suspect your stated income has a lot to do with their willingness to retain your custom and offer you a refund of the annual fee.
