Re: Citibank Signature 80k QFF signup bonus $299+$49, ends 31/03/14 [Extended - 31/05

T&C's state " The bonus 80,000 Qantas Points offer is available to new Citibank Credit Cardholders "
Sounds like you may not be eligible as its for new Card holders. Wouldn't hurt to call them and ask. I am in a similar position holding the Citi Select, so I will just get the wife to apply for it and get the points.
My wife has recently cancelled her Citi Platinum card, at least partially with the view to reapply for the Signature at some time. I think you need to wait 9 months though, think I saw this here somewhere.

If you do it should be well stated in the T&C's. AMEX for example require you to wait for 12 months before they consider you a new cardholder.

Unfortunately "should be well stated" and "are well stated" are not equivalent and we are after all dealing with Citibank here. I have not been able to find any such definition and indeed my understanding is that this is new to the Amex T&C's also.

FWIW both myself and Cruiserette hold Select and both applied for Signature with bonus 80K QFF pts - both successful in applics and after some serious stuff arounds with Citi both now have pts in our QFF accounts.

Is the eligible spend amount $1000 in 3 months before you get the bonus points?

I just rang to cancel my card after finally getting my 80k points, and when they asked if there is any way they could keep me, I said to waive the fee. She had to pass me to someone else but eventually they came back and said yes, they will waive the $299 fee for the first year!! Score. Needless to say, I've made a note in my diary to cancel the card in 11 months time!!

Re: Citibank Signature 80k QFF signup bonus $299+$49, ends 31/03/14 [Extended - 31/05

Just got a notification that due to the lengthy time for my application to be processed, they have awarded me an additional 4500 QFF points. That makes 84500 points for a $12.95 spend (that was paid off immediately). Now waiting for the sweep into QFF before cancelling card.

Thanks Citi :)

Has anyone noticed when you click on the Citibank link the date has changed to 31 march, instead of 31 may.

Nah, there a couple of links floating around - the original 31st March end date, and the one for 31st May (which went 31 March, 30 April, 31st May, 31st July, and then back to 31st May).
The link is below and is accessible from the Qantas site

80K posted to QFF account some months back - previous call to Citi to cancel resulted in them offering to refund the $299 fee if I retained card - which I agreed to then went and spent $400 on Wish Cards - paid off the $81 to clear that and today cancelled - 80K QF pts for $49 - gotta love that.

Re: Citibank Signature 80k QFF signup bonus $299+$49, ends 31/03/14 [Extended - 31/05

Also called to cancel & was offered a reversal of the $299 annual fee if I kept it. $299 CR was on the card the next day. Decided to keep this one (until the renewal date) & cancel another card instead, so I guess their strategy (kinda) worked.

What is it with Banks and CC credit limits nowadays?

Example 1: I had Alt Black with 30K limit - cancelled it and applied for new Alt Black to get 2 x pts - no prob they give me new card with 30K limit - and on cancelling first ask me to I want to transfer my 30K limit to new card - er OK - so now I got 60K limit. I also had WSQ Plat Amex / Visa with 50K limit - call up and cancel - would you like us to transfer your limit over to Alt Black - er OK - now I goy Alt Black with 110K limit.

Example 2: Applied for the Citi Signature to get the 80K QFF pts - no prob getting card with 30K limit - banked pts and call to cancel - would you like us to transfer your 30K limit over to Select which also had 30K limit - er OK - then get email from Citi asking last 2 tax assessments - call Citi why you want these? Cause we need these for your limit increase applic - er OK - email them through - 2hrs later log into Citi and select limit now shows 60K limit.

Never before have I seen banks so keen to increase CC credit limits - anybody else experiencing same?

Re: Citibank Signature 80k QFF signup bonus $299+$49, ends 31/03/14 [Extended - 31/05

Citi offered to increase my Select limit on my first anniversary $20k to $30k.

And diners did the same (yes it is supposed to be a charge card, don't ask!) $10k to $25k.

Accepted both offers.

I wish Bank West would be as liberal
I have 2 cards with them:
* Zero Platinum - do not earn points but no annual fee
* Qantas Platinum - earn points but annual fee

I have a moderately large limit on the Zero card and a tiny limit on the Qantas card. I asked them if they can move the limit from Zero to Qantas and they can only do it by:
* Change the Zero into Qantas and Qantas into Zero - and I loose out the 1 point / $1 spend as it would be considered a new card
* Have a limit increase on Qantas card - and another enquiry onto my credit file - but I am not qualified as have been applying too many credit
* Cannot even cancel the Zero and move the limit over to Qantas :(

So now I have a Zero card that I kept in a drawer
Trying very hard to stay within the limit of Qantas card, by using Amex whenever possible

It has been a while since I need to worry about the limit

Macquarie - decline. Bankwest - had to haggle to get 5k+ to qualify for platinum. Citi Signature $50k. Good to see the Aussie banks have stricter underwriting criteria than the US.
