Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Hi there, this is Citibank Australia,

We’ve seen this thread and would like to offer some clarification. To confirm, you can transfer your rewards points to Qantas Frequent Flyer points with the CitiBusiness Card. The earn rate is 1.25 points for every $1 spent. You can redeem your points for Qantas 1 Rewards Point = 1 QFF point (min redemption of 10,000 points). You simply need to contact Citibank Australia on 13 24 84 when you want to transfer your points to Qantas.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Citibank Australia

Thanks for the clarification, Citibank Australia.

Could you also clarify whether reward points can transfer to just Qantas or can they be transferred to other airlines as well? If they can transfer to others, what are the redemption rates?

Yes blocks of 15,000 turn back into 10,000 real Kris points. The 3.333 points (net)per dollar on international is pretty exciting as the net result for Kris Flyer points earn.

Not all that exciting when you factor in Citi's fee for using the card overseas: ~3.3% surcharge on top of the FX rate, if I recall correctly - one of the higher-fee banks in the business. At best you are getting your money back and then only if you make effective use of the points.

OK, I am answering my own Q in case others are interested. Just called Citi and confirmed that Select will remain 1:1 for QFF. I guess this is the main benefit of paying the exhorbitant $700 (seeing I don't live within 21km of the airport to take advantage of the chauffeur).

Chauffeur? Is this a 'Select' benefit for travelling to/from the airport? I don't recall seeing it mentioned in the black 'Select' invitation pack that I received about a year ago. I'm pretty sure that it is not a regular 'Signature' benefit.

Can someone please clarify?

No chauffeur from Citi Select for us and we have both....a Qantas one and one we have been transferring to SQ Kris Flyer.
It is $749 for the Qantas one and $700 for the second non Qantas one.
In 2012 this has been my biggest used (Kris one) card as Visa is just so easy to use.
The barriers to entry are high but those struggles are worth the effort.

From the listed Select benefits on the website:
Unlimited complimentary airport transfers[SUP]8[/SUP], when you book your international business or first class flights through the Citibank Travel Program
The fine print states that it's only up to 21km from the airport.
I assumed it was a chauffeured car, but perhaps it is a mini bus - or a taxi!

Yes xquisite you are technically correct but we don't use Citi to book any travel because we run at a wholesale cost by redeeming points for business and first class flights. Going to London or Los Angeles on points is the true bargain for us.
So if you use Citi to pay for tickets then yes you get a car pick up.
We use limos but not thru Citi as we are not eligible using points I believe.
