Hi All,
I've booked a trip to the US for myself and my wife (BNE-MEL-LAX-JFK-MCO-LAS-HNL-LAX-BNE) directly (ie not through a travel agent) with all flights and accommodation expenses purchased via my Citibank Platinum Credit Card. These purchases are therefore covered under the Complimentary Travel Insurance offered by Citibank (www.citibank.com.au/global_images/complimentaryinsurance/pdf/citibank_tc_270911.pdf).
My concern is that the flights on the trip are booked through multiple carriers independent of ach other (ie QF flight BNE-MEL-LAX connects to separate AA flight to JFK) and while I've endeavoured to allow enough time between these connections I'm aware of the inevitable possibility of delays causing us to miss a connecting flight.
Therefore my question is, does the insurance provided by Citibank cover the cost of any replacement flights missed and accommodation charges required at departure or lost at destination? And if not is there a recommended travel insurance that I should look at taking out which will cover this scenario - preferably with access to a consultant for assistance in booking etc.
Thanking you all in advance
