Citibank Gold Business Card vs Citibank Plat Card

I used this as a back up also. This plus the platinum charge card work well and when you're visiting holiday inn or one of them restaurants that pay 4 points per dollar this card is a massive winner.

I recently got CitiBusiness Gold myself when Citi refused 3 applics for Citi Platinum - but eventually I want to upgrade to Citi Select.

When I access Citi online and view CitiBusiness Gold I see in the Account Services menu to left there is a tab 'Upgrade Credit Card' - have any of you guys actually upgraded from CitiBusiness Gold > Citi Platimum > Citi Select using this tab?

Or indeed is the only way to upgrade to request upgrade over phone?

Or to cancel 1 card first then go back and beg / demand an upgrade over phone?

What's the deal with Holiday Inn? I have the CitiBusiness card and take advantage of the restaurant deal; but I am not aware of any special deal with HI.

Looking for forward to some more love!!

Thanks Oz_mark. I assume it works with CitiBusiness as well as Citibank?

I guess so - the T&C's at the bottom of the page mention it (never realised the bonus points keep going even if you reach the cap):

Bonus Points are earned on purchases made at participating Australian Bonus Partner retailers only. The Bonus Partner program is only available to Citi Gold, Citi Business, Citi Platinum and Citi Select Cardholders who are enrolled in the Citi Rewards program. Citi Business Cardholders can earn a maximum of 4.25 points per dollar spent. Citi Select Cardholders can earn a maximum of 5 points per dollar spent. Cardholders that reach the maximum number of points accumulated in a twelve month period beginning and ending on the anniversary date your account is enrolled in the rewards program will continue to earn bonus rewards points. The earning and redeeming of Citi Rewards points is subject to the Citi Rewards Terms and Conditions which are available online or by calling 13 24 84.

Is anyone know whether the Citibank Gold Business Card can transfer reward points to Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer program?

Just recently applied for a Citibank Plat Visa card, does any one know whats the official conversion rate into Kris Flyer points? Even the bank relationship manager isn't clear at all when I asked him.

Thanks a lot.

Wasn't sure which thread to post to so here goes...

Following several calls to Citi and demands, my rewards account is finally credited with 40k points.

Thanks to oz_mark & gumpy for bringing this to my attention; silly me used my Amex last time I went to HI. Bugger,

I have since earned approx. 40,000 points from 6 stays and booked my first free night. If I use my CitiBusiness Card I now get heaps of points per stay.

For example, I often take a 3,000 bonus point offer at either Potts Point (SYD) or Old Sydney (not in peak season) for around $200. Thanks to VA I am now platinum with PG so I get 50% bonus.

So: $A200 minus the GST then converted to $US - well let's just say it comes out to about 200 (to keep the maths easy); @ 10 PG points per $ = 2,000 + 50% (PG Plat) = 3,000 + 3,000 bonus points = 6,000 (approx). Divide by 5 to get the equivalent in QF or VA ff points = 1,200 qff or velocity points. Divide by the $200 spend is 6 points per $.

If you then add the 4.25 points per $ as a CitiBusiness bonus partner (if you pay with your card), you get 10.25 points per $!

On top of that I currently have a double ponts offer (which I understand only applies to the normal points, not the bonus points) would add another 3,000 PG points or 600 ff points for a total of 13.25 points per $1.

Once again, thanks to oz_Mark and gumpy for bringing this to my attention.

If CAP is 250,000 points and 40,000 points came from signing up, you're limited to just earning 210,000 points. I'd like to see that the 40,000 points is over the 250,000 cap.

Can someone give a tip how to quicken the credits to my account. Seems BPay takes 2 business days to be processed.

I changed from a Citi Platinum to a Citi Business Visa card before Christmas when Citi announced the reduction of Q FF points to 1 per $2 spend. I originally asked for a transfer to their Signature card but was declined as my credit limit was too low at $14000. Sadly my request to just raise the limit fell on deaf ears. I was recommended to change to their City Business card which would retain the Q FF earn rate, though I have retired from business I accepted this offer expecting a quick transfer to the new card.
I did not realise that I would to have to apply from scratch as a new customer completing their lengthy form and arranging a call between Citi and my accountant to confirm my income. A recent change up to an Amex Platinum charge card only required signing a single page agreeing to their terms and conditions while a change of Visa cards at ANZ was done simply by a phone call.
Citibank can try your patience with their robotic call centre. I do not regret staying with Citi, as I believe their Business visa gives better Q FF benefits than any other visa card.

Too late now, but you should have pushed the point with them here - I went from Citi Platinum to CitiBusiness Gold without reapplying or giving financial information. It took a little bit of explaining for them to understand it was a 'product' transfer I wanted and not a 'balance' transfer, but then I started using 'their language' which was to refer to a card upgrade...
