Citibank "4th night free" perk

Does anyone know that since this is now capped at 4 redemptions a year, if I cancel a reservation where I applied the code, does it still count as a redemption?

If anyone cares - I contacted support and they said if you cancel a reservation where you redeemed the code to contact them so that it can be added back into your quota.
