We start with a few days in Hong Kong, and then we'll get to show the kids some of our favourite memories of Rome, Umbria, Tuscany, Venice, Bergamo and Milan. Next stop Norway - Bergen for Fjords and Tromsø chasing the Northern Lights and Whales.

Finished off with 4 nights in Paris and CX F back to HKG.

We will be driving to Sydney, Christmas with our grandchildren, and a few days in Armidale on the drive home to QLD.

That's because I will be working there. So home from Tassie 19/12,start in Armidale 28/12.
So a few days off relaxing with family.
Retirement is wonderful.I really mean it because I an enjoying my work more than at any time in my previous working life.

Crikey what a wonderful assortment of destinations - going to be a lot of happy little AFFers mid Jan! :D Everybody please promise to have your wits about you keep safe won't you?

We are off to Bali for 10 days staying at Double 6 in Seminyak - only a 6hr plane trip - hopefully ol' smokey will be kind to us and keep his big gob closed.

Just hoping for a little more stable weather than what they are experiencing there right now! ;)

Try to get to Niagara-on-the-Lake (Canadian side); the ice wines should be good!

But ... Oilers?

We are staying on the Canadian side at Sheraton on the Falls... will be sure to check out the ice wines.

Yeah, that was the only ice hockey game we could tie in with for the trip. I'm not too fussed about quality so long as we get to see some action on the ice!

The Sheraton has one of the best Buffets I have seen.

Kick off a big 12 months of overseas travel (for me anyway) on Xmas day leaving for a week of skiing on Hokkaido. At this stage planning to use it as a trial run first trip report leading up to some bigger trip reports to Japan (again) and Europe later in the year.

The OATEK family are having a very low profile Christmas/Holiday period. The only excursion is taking a number of my female family members to the sales in Melbourne early in January. Our next big trip does not kick of until June, which will be SYD-HKG-MAN-LON//LHR-BUD-VIE-ATH-JTR-CDG-HKG-SYD. Very much looking forward to that despite recent events.

SWMBO and I are holidaying in Spain and Morocco for all of December, returning early Jan:

MAD-RAK-MAD
MAD-AUH-SYD-CBR

All in Y so we'll see how we go...

After spending 21 months in Perth I was always flying East for Christmas and New Year so this year living in Brisbane I am spending 12 days in Perth.
Will have breakfast with parents and my brothers family then get on a Qantas plane and go to Perth and have dinner with some friends in the West.
Stay for 11 nights, mix of staying with friends, a Hilton stay and probably a few nights in Fremantle. I will spend some of that time sailing then on the 5 January fly back to Brisbane on Qantas, hopefully the upgrade comes through, so I can test out the new J lounge, Qantas better not close it or I be upset to say the least.

I'm still hoping something pops up for award bookings so the wife and I can get away OS.

Otherwise Christmas lunch with the family...which isn't exactly special as we all work together.

Was tempted by Bali but didn't feel like paying $2k return on Jetstar...

Thailand again this year with 8 European friends. Koh Samet, Bangkok and Krabi this time. It's becoming a yearly event ( 3 years in a row). Simple MEL- BKK return J on TG

Going diving in Indo for a couple of weeks :) A week in Raja Ampat for Christmas, followed by a week in Ambon for New Years.

I don't really do Christmas, and my employer officially closes its doors over the holidays, so it's just an excuse to go diving somewhere fun :)

Hubby wants to photograph Princes Pier so he's getting a couple of sunrises and sunsets there.
Pray for fog or perhaps an afternoon shower followed by sun breaking out -> either weather event results in a row of photographers photographing the piles with equipment ranging from SLR 10stop black filters all the way up to 8"x10" plate cameras. Wonderful stuff.

Have fun! Been thinking of Raja Ampat but I cant do liveaboards so that limits us to resorts

I did a liveaboard there some time ago, but this time I'm doing land based and staying at an eco resort. Will see how it goes. I've had some very poor experiences with liveaboards in the last couple of years, so I'm kind of over it at the moment.
