China Eastern Delays/Cancellations

Only a few days after commencing SYD - KMG nonstops on 26 November 2016, MU777 from KMG into SYD about 1430 hours on Tuesday 29 November struck some allegedly severe turbulence on approach to SYD.

Media reports indicate that there were only 30 passengers on board, which must be close to a record low for a mainland Chinese carrier flying to or from Oz.

It appears that some passengers may not have been wearing seatbelts while seated, or perhaps, even worse, standing while the seat belt sign was on, as a small number were transported by road ambulance to hospital.

A332 B-8226 on MU561, the scheduled 1000 SYD arrival on Wednesday 30 November that the night before originated in PVG should be at its destination gate at about 1033, 33 late.

Thursday 15 December sees A332 B-6121 on MU727, the Wednesday 14 December 1930 from NKG to SYD that took off at 2123 expected to arrive at 1039 hours, 69 minutes behind schedule.

Saturday 17 December 2016 sees MU737, the overnight Friday 16 2000 hours from PVG to MEL (A332 B-6545) having taken off at 2131. Saturday arrival should be at approximately 1107, 67 minutes tardy. The returning MU738 is the 'high noon' 1200 hours departure, so it should be delayed until at least 1220 in its pushback.
