Children/babies travelling in J domestic A330..???

Travelling relatively frequently in J between Perth and Melbourne, my experience has been that younger children & babies have always been positioned in the starboard side seating.

Am interested to know whether this is sheer coincidence, or is this a general rule of thumb, and if the latter why would that be..???

I apologise if similar postings exist, my searches didn't retrieve any info . . . . .

I'm not surprised ...

... Over the years I've had no specific observation of such myself in dozens of transcons, nor have I come across any reference to this other then this thread.

Interesting question. I have just done seat selection for QF81/82 domestic legs and I think I noticed the starboard bassinet seats were blocked but not the port side seats. Will double check tomorrow.
