Speaking of "CheckMyTrip" ... Is it sufficent to carry around the CheckMyTrip Itinerary, with the E-Ticket numbers listed, for international and domestic US flights? Or, will I need to have actual copies of the E-Tickets?

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but do you get an Amadeus Reservation Number using Qantas online booking and E-Tickets etc.? If not, is there anyway you can get one just to see what's going on with seat allocation etc.?

Yes. The Qantas booking reference they give you when you book (eg ZQ8NPD) and your surname is what you use on Checkmytrip. Qantas uses the Amadeus booking system whch is what Checkmytrip looks up.

Otherwise a phone call to Qantas will normally assist with working out seats on flights where seats are assigned (eg International)

Most people who check these things have no idea of what it should look like. I find the Checkmytrip listing to be concise and accurate for my needs so carry it when the occasion arises. As long as the ticket numbers are listed, then they should be all you need for someone else (eg airport staff or customs if they're nosy) to look up and check.

Note that CheckMyTrip.com is only a view into the Amadeus GDS and will only show what Amadeus knows about your itinerary. So if your trip includes sectors not operated by airlines that use Amadeus (such as AA, CX) then it may not show all sectors or all details of those sectors.

CheckMyTrip.com does not show the actual e-ticket number, so you would have to include that yourself.

I would recommend carrying a printed copy of the e-ticket receipt just to be sure. Note that since an e-ticket is a virtual ticket, you can't actually carry the e-ticket with you, only a copy of the e-ticket receipt.

Yes, but there are times when dealing with customs/immigration where you really do need the e-ticket receipt. They won't be impressed with having to find someone to look up ticket numbers etc just because you brought the wrong piece of paper.

IME, the ticket number is displayed down at the bottom of the standard results page in a table after issuance.

It may appear there more than once (duplicated) if changes have been made to the booking.

It shows all sectors on my itinerary but does not show seat allocation for AA flights even though I have seats allocated through AA website.

That will teach me for checking a booking that is a paper ticket and not an e-ticket! Of course it does not show the e-ticket number when the ticket is paper - doh.

I've had ticket numbers for paper ticket itineraries appear centuries after the booking was actually ticketed. It'd show up as 'manual ticket', although 'manual ticket' doesn't necessarily always mean it's a paper ticket as interlined-issued etickets also show up with that as I recently learnt.

Indeed, I believe that when a ticket number is pushed across from another GDS rather than issued by Amadeus, then it is classed to have been manually added to the Amadeus reservation and so shows up as a manual ticket

While for the most part they are good; it appears that I can no longer
get seating information for individual flights where a seat has been
preallocated.

This includes the actual preselected seat for a flight and a link to a
seat map for the cabin.

I have found this information very useful and would be disappointed for

I am hoping this is simply an oversight.

Now they have implemented the new one 'error free' actual seat assignments are no longer available, so it was yet another canned response.

I was getting a bit confused too about accessability of seat assignment map. Tuesday I had access to this, but now it is the new interface (did not load last time I accessed checkmytrip) so now understand people's concerns.

According to checkmytrip it is going to be a max of 20 deg F in CAN on Sunday
