1000 miles, I would simply donate them to charity, different if you were losing 9.000 miles

I had ~880 SQ KrisFlyer expiring earlier this year.

I didn't let them expire. I transferred over just enough Amex MR points for a one-way business class award to BKK.

My AA miles are expiring in June. I will redeem an award which will extend their life another 18 months. But I do have a few more than 1000 miles to lose. ;)

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

There have been other threads on this, but my info is a bit outdated. I'd phone them up. I bought $10 or $20 worth of points once and there was a special on I got them half price. They posted immediately. Maybe someone else has some suggestions.

Purchasing works and yes I believe you can make a small donation. Erewards also a good way to keep points alive.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I'll try the donation and then buy some points in the current Offer if the donation doesn't work. One must always be vigilant...

1000 miles costs USD 29.95 currently. If you have a lot of existing miles to save, it may be worth it. Then you could join Award Wallet to tell you when your loyalty program miles expire.

and all the rest :( $30 processing charge and ~2 tax, total USD62 for 1000 miles.

e-rewards (opinion surveys through Accor hotels) works well to get around this.

The points are about to expire in 4 weeks. Erewards takes ages doesn't it?

to earn e-rewards takes forever. from memory they transferred not too slow. like within a week.

i was more making a comment for others with expiring miles that e-rewards can be a free option. saved me the usd62 when I needed it.

Just trying to work out if I already have AW and cancel my AA account in it, and then reload will it have the same effect?

This one is such a great find, sure its only 5 points but for me that extends a million plus AA points.
