Hello! Quick question:-

I need a one way flight from NRT to HKG or MNL on May 2009.

So far my online searches such as bestflights, kayak, specific airlines (CX) reveal one way fares in Y for over AUD$2k or close to $3K for J.

It is quite unattractive pricing for a straight one way flight (4hrs or so).

Is there anyway I could get from NRT to HKG or MNL for very very cheap? ie less than $1K. No preference in airlines.

Or should I call Qantas and see if they have any CX inventory for NRT-HKG redemption?

Thanks,

Al.

I've found the best way to search for flights to a specific destination is to go the airport home page and then look for departing flights.

Here are today's' departures from NRT to MNL:

At the very least it gives you a few airlines to choose from, also you may consider checking the price for a return trip and seeing if it is worthwhile discarding the second part.

Too many images so I had to cut it back a bit.

Thanks for that.

Anyway, has anyone booked a OW Visit Asia pass?

"T&C says must be booked in conjuction with return travel to Asia on a OW airline"

Thought I could get away with NRT-MNL and MNL-HKG (meets the min. 2 flight rule) - which is approx. $500plus taxes according to the schedule.

I currently have an award LAX-NRT on AA .... and an award HKG-SYD on QF returning home.

Good news!!!!

I just called QF and booked a Y award NRT-HKG on CX ;)

The ticket is really for my travelling partner, as I'm already booked in the pointy end of J.

It costs 20K ff points + 2.5K booking fee + ~$68 in taxes!

Otherwise it would've have been a bit over $2000 just for a single one way on the same flight, same time! And I am a one happy chappy!! :D

If I may calculate my points value as $1932 / 22500 = 8.59cents per point!!
