Changing Executive Club Avios to Qantas Frequent Flyer

I've recently booked a MEL-PER business class ticket using Avios due to it being much better value than using my QFF points. My flight therefore is registered under my Executive Club account. As Qantas is also a Oneworld member is there any way to reassign this awards booking from my Avios account to my QFF account i.e. change the FF number? I've gone into my BA account and have been unable to do so this way.

Great thing about changing it to your QFF is that you'll earn SC on it if you have Points Club ;)

As a last resort, you could get them to do this in the lounge/at the airport.

Apologies if it is off-topic, but I thought you only earn SC with Points Club if you book QF metal using QF points rather than via one of the OneWorld partners?

Exactly where my mind was going. I used 12,100 Avios + $190 to book a $1500 BC ticket (and on the A330 mind, not the inferior 737)! Now, if I switch over to QFF I should earn 32 SCs for Domestic Long Haul... but wait - it gets better! Because I booked it during the DSC promotion that should become 64 SC (according to Flight Hacks reward bookings are eligible). That's just about 1SC=$3!!! Fingers crossed it works out this way - first step is to head over to Finnair and try the switcheroo! :)

The Finnair website should let you do this.
It looks like it *should* let you do this, but it doesn't. I signed up, added my flight reference number and went to update details. I entered my Qantas FF details, clicked save details and received the message: "Something went wrong while updating the frequent flyer number. Please try again." Frustrating.

Well I have learned something this evening after your response I logged went to the Finnair site and could not change one my QF rewards flights to BA or AA I wonder if it has been enhanced or was never available to change for rewards bookings. To be honest I have never worried about changing my FF number on reward flights as they normally do not earn SCs or points. In the past I have used the Finnair site to change FF numbers but these were revenue flights, sorry for the bum steer.

Not at all Matt - thanks for trying to help! :) I am reaching out to BA on FB this evening to see if they can change it manually... still waiting for a response... Will call sometime this week if no luck via this route. Perhaps getting 64 SCs for a $1500 flight I already obtained for a steal was too good to be true... :)

Keep us posted. A confirmed SC earn via Avios redemption would be a welcome data point.

I've done numerous avios bookings on QF and put my QF number in and earned SC's accordingly. DSC works too.
You booked Avios via your BA Exec Club and were given the option of choosing a Frequent Flyer program? Not my experience unfortunately - I wasn't give a choice (or at least not an obvious one; I was actively looking for a way to change from BA Exec Club at the time of booking but I couldn't see any)!

Yes. Regardless of whether I manually create a PNR or use the BA site I can get a QF number in easily.

If AY’s website doesn’t work, I’ve had recent success with RJ.
Many thanks *A Flyer - it seemed to let me do it - I didn't get any error message like I did on the Finnair site when I tried. But I'm still not 100% sure - the change to passenger e-mail confirmation I received doesn't display the FF number - is there any way to double check?
