Hi Guys,

I'm sure this topic has been covered, however I did a search but came up with nothing...

Is there a way to change the end of your membership year? Mine ends in December and would prefer for it to end in the middle of each year (around June/July) when I typically have more time to squeeze in any status runs if required.

Any ideas how to achieve this?

Welcome to AFF. :D

The only way I know of if someone with a June/July membership "year" gifts you Gold Status - you "year" would then become aligned.

If you are prepared to forego any earned LT SC's then you could re-join with different credentials (same name) sometime in June/July next year. You would then abandon your current membership.

I'd be interested to know if they'd do this for you if you were to make a concession, by that I mean, they're unlikely to give you 6 months membership for free, but perhaps if you offered to lose 6 months they might not mind changing your renewal date, depending on if you end up talking to the right person.

I would love to align SWMBO and myself as we are currently APR and AUG so maintaining WP for both of us is a challenge. I was wondering as she isn't yet LTS if she could establish a new FF account in August and start from scratch for LT. Has anyone tried this or will QF recognise she is already a member and block a second membership.

If possible, you could try hit 2400, while your partner drops status, then give the partner membership benefit and that would align the accounts. After that, you fly less and your partner flies more, you'll still be aligned.

Thanks guys for the suggestions.

I think the only viable option here would be for me to give them a call when my new membership year starts in January and see if I can chop it short. Will let you know how it goes.

Do consider the effect though, I sometimes think it would be better if SWMBO and I had different membership years to guard (slightly) against one of us dropping below gold in a given year due to different travel patterns. At least travelling together we'd have a better chance of lounge access.
