Recently, I requested for information on transit hotels at Changi International. This is the after travel report of my experience at the transit hotel at Changi International Terminal 2.

I ended up booking the Ambassador Transit Lounge for 6 hours. My booking showed $145 which I clarified it to be Singapore Dollars (SGD). This worked out to be AUD $177.69.

I got off the SQ flight and walked straight to the lounge. There were two people at the front desk and I was attended to quick.ly I was asked if I wanted to have either supper at the time or have breakfast in the morning. I opted for breakfast. I was told that I was "upgraded" to the hotel but honestly I think it's just the same style of rooms. I was given the option to have a drink (soft drink/juice) whilst they did the necessary paperwork.

Once I finished my drink, I was escorted to the hotel side of the transit hotel. This is literally on the opposite side from the initial check-in area. Here, I had to check-in again (but the person who came with me gave me passport and other print out to the lady at the new counter) and the lady asked about the flight details and wake-up call time. From here, I was escorted to my room. On the way I was shown the bathrooms which is shared and outside the rooms. The bathrooms were quite clean. There is also a amenities area on the way to the room. The razors are located here and not in the pack which is in the room. I discovered this after my shower visit in the morning :D

The room itself is quite small but was perfect for me and had basic amenities. I was in bed after a quick bathroom visit. The sleep was hard to come by and I woke up with out any alarms. The room and the area around is very quiet BTW. I showered and then later found where the razors were kept so did another quick visit to the bathroom :)

I checked out and then went to have breakfast. It was quite early and found that the "made to order" breakfast like omelettes etc. wasn't open until 0730. I was disappointed; nothing like starting the day with an omelette! :D The coffee was strong and good. The atmosphere was still very quiet and not very busy. All the buffet items were constantly topped up and the place was clean. There are comfortable chairs here also in the restaurant area; I believe you can book this also.

Overall, I would rate it good enough for the short stays. Definitely better than sitting on a transit chair. A shower, shave and a hot breakfast with coffee makes a whole lotta difference IMHO.

You have to excuse the last picture; I took the picture after I got ready the next morning.
