Yesterday I received an email from qantas advising that they had changed the special meals
"These options have been simplified to
provide a range of 13 individual Special Meals which cater
for religious, medical, or dietary requirements, along with
meals for children. "
Basically the options now are diabetic, gluten intolerant, and a whole heap of variations on vegetarian and vegan. The low fat meal (and I don't know how many others) have been done away with.
The call centre said they were only catering special meals for medical, religious, and children now. I don't know who they are taking their advice from, but there are lots of conditions that can require a low-fat meal ( I know because I have one). The website talks of 'new cuisine' that is healthier and then talks about munching on cupcakes - which doesn't seem very healthy to me.
Does anyone else have a problem getting their required special meal now?
