Changes to a paper DONE4 ticket

    Hi all
    Slightly less frequent posting at the moment as this site is blocked by our websense software now and I cant ask for this to be added as well all other travel sites I use - might look slightly dodgy.

    Just a couple of quick questions. I have a paper DONE4 starting on 17 March. I know that I can make changes to it prior to commencement of travel without incurring the US$125 fee. What though is the process? The ticket was booked through AA by a US travel agent and charged to my boss's US CC. I only want to change dates and time of travel for two flights - about three changes in total.

    Do I call AA locally and have the ticket issued in Mascot?

    Do I need a new physical ticket?

    If the date n time changes are to flights after the 1st international part , then you should just be able to phone AA and just give new dates and they'll change the booking. No need for a reissue

    Thanks - I know what I will be doing tomorrow morning :) I much prefer the US call centre and all my US calls get recharged when I call from home ;)

    You need to show them just how much money you save the company by being an informed traveller :D
    Date/time changes that do not involve a routing change do not require the ticket to be re-issued.

    Routing changes require the ticket to be re-issued.

    You cannot change any flights prior to and including the first international flight. That requires the ticket to be cancelled and re-purchased.

    For changes before travel has commenced, you generally need to deal through the agency that issued the ticket, so in your case you would need to go back to the US travel agent from whom the ticket was purchased.

    Once the travel has commenced, you can deal directly with the operating airline.

    Ahh - hmm.

    Given one of the flights is to make sure I get a D seat whilst mrssimongr gets a U seat on the same plane I think I will contact the agents tonight via email. The other flight is a MCO-LGA on a Wednesday evening in F so I should be ok to change that closer to the date - might keep and eye on EF though :)
