My husband is trying to get to Platinum before his year ends in February 2013. I booked a series of JASAs for him, which were going to take him very close, on the assumption he would do some additional work related travel to take him over the line.

One of these was CBR-SYD-ADL returning ADL-MEL-CBR. He went to the first day of the cricket test in Adelaide last Thursday with a mate.

Coming back he was moved to the direct ADL-CBR flight, even though he said he wanted to stay on his original connecting flight through MEL. He said he told them he didn't want to change but he was changed so I'm not sure if he really tried to stop the change happening.

By my calcs that reduced SCs earned by 20. Which means that potentially we will have to spend points or $ on another flight.

Do you think it worth asking QF if they will comp him Platinum if he gets within 20 SC?

Apply for original routing credit with Qantas on the phone and it will fix itself.

Contact QFF and use the words "original routing credit".

He will get the points and more importantly SCs for the routing that was booked, rather than what he flew.

edit: dammit, ninja'd :p

You are both wonderful! I've never heard of original routing credit. Thank you!

they won't comp him to platinum, but after the flight ring up and ask for an "Original Routing Credit". That should get you the original credit, which if is was a JASA, should be 80SC, not 60sc.

Just for clarity the phrase you are looking for is Original Routing Credit ;)

Yes make sure you ask for "original routing credit", and not "original routing credit", "original routing credit" or "original routing credit" as already suggested in other replies to this thread.

So to confirm, it's "original booking debit" that we're asking for?

:D

:D

Perhaps it hasn't been made clear enough. :D
Incase anyone else had any doubts it is "Original Routing Credit" that must be requested.

Did you ask for the original routing credit then?

It is I, Leclerc !

If by some chance you are put through to a French call centre, use the words "Originale crédit de routage"

This is the correct term to use. If you don't capitalise it they may not understand the underlying TLA.

Sent from my iThing.
Why, because iCan.

Definitely worth going for an 'original routing credit'.... netted me back an extra 100 SCs from a re-routed AA status run in September. After talking with an agent on the phone about an 'original routing credit', they requested I send copies of my original booking details and boarding passes etc. to the frequent_flyer at qantas dot com dot au email address. I waited two weeks and then called up... the agent looked into it straight away and did the adjustments while I was on the phone.

Thanks for the laugh :) I think I've understood but just to clarify, it's Original Routing Credit?

I've told husband to ring them so I'll let you know what happens when he pulls his finger out and does it - can you tell I'm the one driving point and SC collection in this household??
