On my way to HKIA as I type (thanks to free CX wifi for J PAX).

If I get a chance, I’ll swing by the Bridge but probably won’t have time to check it out as I’ll be making a bee-line to the closest F lounge before my onward connection. Passing back thru in 2 wks, so might get a 2nd chance.

If we end up at the Deck, I’ll report back.

Oh well, went to the Deck thinking the Wing was now closed and that would be the closest lounge to our onward flight from Gate 11 only to be told to do the F lounge…

In the back of my head I thought the Wing F had already closed but apparently not!

Cathay is reopening The Bridge later today, having renovated it to match the Ilse Crawford design of their other lounges.

The Deck will be temporarily repurposed as a First/OWE lounge, and The Wing First will close for a refresh, reopening 2026.

Great news for oneworld flyers departing HKIA
How is this great news? The Wing was the go to lounge, no question.

The Deck is quite small, so how will this acommodate all the OWE's displaced from the Wing? I was in the Deck a couple of months ago, and it's quite nice, but no way it could comfortably handle the traffic that would otherwise go to the Wing. It'll be interesting to see how it works out. I'll be there in October to find out..,..

Deck is only replacing Wing F/Emerald, not the larger Wing J/ Sapphire..
But obviously going to be missing the cabanas and alacarte restaurant.

I'm pretty sure everyone rated the pier better than the wing with the exception of the Cabanas (but hey Pier has messages and private day rooms). Wing was mainly for lower number gates, but anything beyond Gate 20 I'm going to the Pier even if I'm back tracking a bit.

The CX lounges are getting too crowded, if you have a certain Standard Chartered credit card in HK you get 10 free entries per year - they could be on CX, or even UO flights, codeshares are also eligible, as a result, it is more busier than a buffet restaurant....

Im pretty sure CX also opens up their J lounge to AM Silver members (OWR). The F lounges I've found can be busy in the morning rush but not FULL. This is kind of the same with HND/NRt or even SYD QF F lounge during the peak departure block.

The last time I was at HKG (mid Feb), I went to the Wing F. Last Oct, I had planned to go to The Pier, but inbound was late and they were doing an assisted transfer for the now short connection.
The time before that, mid 2023, my inbound was late, missed connection and was rebooked. Got time in The Pier, but only about 10 mins.

The only time I've been to The Deck was when it was still called the Gate 16 Lounge. Only been to The Bridge once, shortly after it first opened. Saw it last year as I was being rushed past to the connection with workers going in for the early refit work prior to the new reopening.
