It took four weeks and one day :). I reckon you’ll have yours very soon.

Yes, only for the primary card member and only for 12 months (though most of the other memberships also have expiry dates and are usually, but not always, just extended).

They're not all like that are they? For Amex Plat do you get SPG Gold for life of the card?

I don’t know about the Platinum charge card, but for Centurion the SPG Gold just keeps extending. But it does have an expiry date. Like the MCP Diamond. So I think it’s about flexibility. There’s every chance MCP Diamond will be extended/renewed like the other memberships.

Yep. They make it clear on the invitation/application that it is for the primary cardholder only.

My reading on the QP was that it didn't need to be for the Primary cardholder. It could be for a supplementary holder.

My reply, like most of the rest of this thread, was about the MCP Diamond status being for the primary cardholder only. The “QP” membership can be for either the primary or supplementary cardholder.

Just thought I would update something, I found out about the CX Diamond from Centurion, I was chatting to my travel man at Centurion today about some flights I'm planing and he informed me that the card is for one year with the hope that card holders will do more travel on CX and keep there status up to Diamond,so it not like the SPG card that just keeps rolling over every year to bad I was hoping it would replace WP

I recently flew MU J class MEL-PEK and tried to use the Centurion supplied CX Diamond Membership into Qantas first lounge in MEL - alas - need OW tix to do so - MU J pax get to use Business lounge only in MEL.

That's right - MU is not part of oneworld therefore no access to F Lounge. Even if you were QF WP if you had a MU marketed ticket you would not be granted access to the F Lounge.

Your access to the J Lounge is in accordance with MU's policy for its Business passengers; obviously they have made an agreement with QF to use their lounge.

That scenario has no bearing on the question in this thread, as anat0l has already pointed out. Surprised you thought you had access actually. The only place CX Diamond has anytime access is in Hong Kong, or at least that's last I heard, things may have changed.

Just a note to Centurion Cathay Diamond members, my TA at Amex has advised me he doubts very much that the offer from Cathay will be extended any longer than a year. So get out there and fly, enjoy the first class OW lounges as much as you can and take full advantage, it may be over before we know it.

Cheers and happy flying

Having had any argument with Dave Noble - I would hope not to have it again...

It's easy.Mrsdrron's grandmother saw the world in black and white-she white the rest black. She would disagree with anything you said.So I always started out saying the exact opposite to what I believed. Then I could always agree with what she said.I dont think she ever worked me out.;)

Yes I fully understand that MU is not part of OW - but they do code share with QF and they do have a points earning relationship so I thought it might just be worth a chance.

sam I never really thought I would be succesful in gaining access - just hoped there might be some remote possibility - nothing ventured - nothing gained.

Don't tell me you have never asked a super model type for a date knowing full well you are going to be rejected? Been there - done that - will try it again as soon as possible.

I sort of understand, it just seemed like you assumed you would have access when you wrote it, which I thought would have been obvious that you don’t :p

Plus didn’t really correlate to the original question. Though I’m still surprised people need to ask these things ;)
