Cathay Pacific Delays/Cancellations

Saw this on threads - CX162 SYD HKG original departure at 1105 is delayed to 1600 at the earliest

The aircraft is B77W B- KQN, 11 year old aircraft and arrived as CX161 on time this morning on 23/02 CC @Melburnian1

Update: the flight is cancelled
Now is delayed until 24 Feb. Estimated to be 25 hours late.

I hope passengers will be rerouted to another flight or port of departure.

Saturday 21 March's very late night 2355 hours HKG down to SYD, CX101 with B773ER B-KQO did not take off until 0208 hours on Sunday 22, swo at gate arrival is likely at 1345 hours, 105 minutes late.

Again demonstrating how it's wise for airlines operating international flights to have timetable provision for generous turnaround times if feasible.
I wonder could QF do the same at outports like HKG compared to CX outports

We don't want to go off topic for long, but QFi do this at SCL in Chile. Seems to work well.

It's also the case at LAX and LHR, the former being where a major maintenance facility for QFi is, with the latter more to do with what business passengers want - an early morning arrival in SYD. (and the limitations of the SYD curfew were the timetable to be altered).
