We've booked Cathay CX104 MEL-HKG and CX289 HKG-FRA (December '14 so may be irrelevant by the time the time comes)

We have 333 and 777 at this stage.

What are the best J class seats for a couple who would like to interact? From what I've seen and read the seats are somewhat individual and allow privacy.

I am leaning towards and aisle and window seat in the same row, rather than 2 centre seats. I've grabbed 12A and 12D on both legs at this stage but there are others available.

Can any one advise how much real estate is between seats and is it easy to be able to speak with your travelling companion?
I've spent about half an hours on various forums but no one has actually covered this issue.

My wife and I Have flown CX J a few times and chose two centre seats about midway in the cabin. Each seat can be moved forward a bit so you can talk, but if you recline your seat to get comfortable you will have to lean forward to see the other person.
If you choose a window there us a fair bit of distance between the two if you. Wouldn't be easy to have a conversation without others hearing you.

Just got off a CX flight, good the middle pair seats if you want to chat and interact with your wife!

We have scored 12D, 12G on the 777 as read a few good reviews on that front section. Hopefully the toilet proximity isn't an issue with banging doors (or worse) all night.
A330 to HKG we just lobbed centre cabin in aisle 17

I recently flew in 11K and found no issues with noise from toilets or doors.
