I noticed that CashRewards have things like Woolworths Online 4.5% cashback and Qantas Online Mall currently have 3 points / $1

I always buy eGiftcards for Woolworths with my Amex card to maximise points but haven't taken notice of Woolworths Online since I usually pay in store. I presume you can only choose cashback or points so I'm wondering which is usually the better deal?

Usually I'd always go the CashRewards route but I guess it depends on how many bonus points QFF are giving to tip the scales.

For 4.5% cashback that's a return of $4.50 if you spend $100. For 3 points per dollar that's a return of 300 points if you spend $100.

Depends on how you value the points I guess?

Personally I value the cashback more, as I really only exchange QFF points for WISH gift cards. Going by the rate of WISH gift cards at 750 points for $5, 1 point is around $0.0067. As such, it's a return of around $2 worth of points.

Sorry to open up an old thread but has anyone found a way to capitalise on the below? I assume it's not feasible but wanted to ask the knowledgeable!
  1. Log into Qantas Shopping to click through to the Woolworths online shopping website to normally get 2 Qantas points on the Woolworths transaction
  2. Buy Woolworths gift card from Cash Rewards with 5% off transaction ($500 = $475) - receive 475 Qantas points through credit card transaction
  3. I'd have thought you'd get the bonus Qantas shopping points on this transaction as well but I believe the T&C's state you can't earn points on purchasing gift vouchers?
I then at a later date go back to the Qantas shopping site to be sent through to Wooliess So that I can use the Woolworths gift card to make a transaction. And was hoping to get Qantas points on this transaction as well. But since it's been made via a gift card you can't earn the points either.

I know this is double dipping and it appears Qantas is across this hence my above failed attempts. However has anyone done things a different way to still get points through gift vouchers?

If I'd have done this without a voucher I'd have received 1000 points for a $500 Woolworths transaction with Qantas Shopping. And also 500 points with my credit card. 1,500 points total.

But with the gift voucher I save $25 and end up with just 475 points.

what does everyone else do?
