Thanks Prozac. A referral would be great...however does this cancel out the current 10,000pt sign-on bonus?

Yes, it cancels that sign on bonus and instead gives you 15,000 points. ;)

I will send you a pm.

Am bumping this up as I now have PR and no longer on a 457 visa which was a snagging point on certain cards.

So is the following list still applicable?

Supermarkets & Fuel - 1st Amex Plat Edge - 2nd CitiBank Signature

Other Australia spend - 1st Westpac Altitude Black Amex - 2nd Westfield XS - 3rd CitiBank Signature

Australian ATO spend - Westpac Altitude Black Amex (% & cost of fees unknown)

Overseas spend - CitiBank Signature (3.3%) or 28 degrees (fee free but no points)

Overseas ATM - CitiBank Plus Debit

Amex Platinum Edge:
$1 spend = 2-3 Amex MR = 2-3 KrisFlyer Miles = 2-3 Velocity points = 2-3 Asia Miles

Westpac Altitude Black Amex:
$1 spend = 3 Westpac Points = 1.5 KrisFlyer mile = 1.5 Velocity point = 1.5 Asia Miles

Westpac Altitude Black MC:
$1 spend = 1.25 Westpac Points = 0.625 KrisFlyer mile = 0.625 Velocity point = 0.625 Asia Miles

Citi Signature Rewards:
$1 AUS spend = 1.5 Citibank rewards points = 1 KrisFlyer mile = 1 Velocity point = 0 Asia Miles
$1 non-AUS spend = 4 Citibank rewards points = 2.66 KrisFlyer mile = 2.66 Velocity point = 0 Asia Miles

Being in Perth I have also realised just how good AA miles are, so am starting to look at the best ways to earn them through SPG

Pretty much. Not sure about Citi.

Congratulations on residency.

I think we can still do referrals for the Amex Plat Edge. Let me know if you want to give it a go.

Cheers but will still need to wait until I have been in business for 18 months before Amex will give me a card, its a shame they don't allow the Global Transfer when self employed and not being able to use non Australian accounts.

Exactly the same set of cards I have now! :)

Given that you are on a healthy 6 figure salary, you should be close to/above the top tax bracket. Therefore make sense for you to pay using the Black Amex for payments to you know who as the fee is tax deductible. Works out to be around 5-6 cents per Krisflyer/Velocity/Asia Miles net.

Gutted to hear that the Westpac card will no longer work for the ATO, I only just got that!! Still will get one in at least!

What cards are left that work for the ATO now?
