Does anyone have any experience if miles for unused flights are refunded? Confused with UA terms and conditions.

- You can also book a one-way award if you wish to travel one-way. If you redeem a roundtrip award and only travel one-way, the unused portion of the award will be forfeited.
- Wholly unused or cancelled MileagePlus Awards may be re-deposited back to the account from which the miles were withdrawn prior to the expiration date. Award re-deposits are subject to applicable fees.
- There is a $125 redeposit fee for members who do not show up for their flight and request a redeposit of their miles.

I guess the first statement tells the story? Quite a steep redeposit fee.

Can confirm wholly unused tickets are refunded. $125 refund fee, but if you have higher status that gets reduced or waived IIRC.

Thanks for the replies. No changes needed for time being.

Yes interesting regarding no value after commencing. Not sure why I booked a return as 2 one-ways would have been the same cost.
