I've booked a mixed fare QF domestic return flight with Red E deal outgoing and Flex returning.
Qantas have declined to refund the Flex portion and said the most restrictive class applies to the whole booking (Only Flex is refundable).
Does anyone know where that rule is published. I've checked the rules for each class, the conditions of carriage, tried rebooking (stopping at the credit card screen) and can't see it anywhere.

Welcome to AFF, if you read the ticket this condition is mentioned.

This is why for domestic fares it is always prudent to book them as one-way trips so that you don't lose the flexibility of the highest class fare.

Thanks Mark. I should have seen that!

I took the travelbank option since Q declined the refund.
Then the flight didn’t operate. (It was Melb-Broome) and we were in Lockdown so I guess there were no passengers.
Do you know whether that gives rise to a refund?
The return leg is yet to occur but having not had an option to depart I guess there can’t be any obligations around the return.

Did you initiate the cancellation or did QF?
If you cancelled the tickets, even if QF then subsequently cancelled the flight, it does not matter, the cancellation rules apply.
If QF cancelled the flight, then you're in your rights for a full refund (to cash, not just a voucher), even for the non-flex part of the ticket.

Thanks . Much appreciated
