So I was due to go to NZ in a few weeks. I used the end of one TravelPass and the start of another TravelPass to pay for the flight.

I'm assuming if I change the flight under Qantas Fly Flexible I assume I just change the flight, pay any difference and thats the end of it.

What happens if I want till Qantas cancels? Will they reissue a new travel pass for the value? Or reinstate the old ones?

Anyone have any intel on these situations?

I expect to be in this situation in a weeks time, so would also love to hear if anyone has experienced this.

Your existing travel passes remain open and valid till their expiry date, even if the balance is zero. Qantas refund policy is to return monies to the original method of payment, whether it is credit card, credit voucher or travel pass. So in the event that the flights are cancelled they will refund back to the travel passes.

My experience for one refundable and cancelled flight which was paid some with travel pass and balance with credit card was I got the refund to credit card after 10 weeks but I had to call 4 times after 3 months waiting for the rest of the refund and kept being told the money should be there on the travel pass but I could see it had not. After two more calls with escalation and another month, I finally had the money credited back (it would appear manually as there was no transaction created for that credit to the travel pass).

I am now waiting for another two cancellations to be refunded back to that travel pass, and I expect it will take manual intervention and a lot of delay again despite Qantas' assurances it would/should be automatic.
