Ah, the metal indicates your attendance - as in, Platinum means you are definitely attending and have made arrangements for it (flights and hotels booked etc), Gold means you are almost certain to attend and arrangements are underway, Silver means you are keen to attend, but could go either way, Bronze means you aren’t attending (sadly, one assumes).
