Although Virgin do have family pooling (which must be set up in advance for up to 6 people at the same address) but being limited under the changes coming in later this year - 50% of any status levels SCs must be earned by the primary card holder on VA flights by themselves.

And hopefully never. Status should imo only be awarded for bum in seat flying.
The airlines disagree. Gifting status to your partner after earning sufficient credits is a good way of building brand loyalty.

It's also a kind of SC transfer if you think about it.
