Can one remain on board on any major 'continuing' flights?

Years ago - 1980s - I recall being able to stay on board while on flights to Europe, Canada and so on that had stopped at an intermediate airport, even when passengers were able to be picked up or set down due to the airline concerned having traffic rights.

My experience in the last decade has been that one must deplane at each stop and again board. There is always an instruction to take one's hand luggage off the plane (presumably a security risk but also so the cleaners cannot snaffle one's goodies).

Are TAFF users aware of any jet flights around the world where if one is travelling from A to C, one can remain on board at B (and it's not just a refuelling stop) - in other words, there are passengers alighting and joining the flight at B>

CMB-BKK-HKG on CX not so very long ago (5 years perhaps?) , we were allowed to stay on board. Interesting to see what the cleaners do! In J, they even changed all the pillow covers.

Sin-Jnb-Cpt on Sq....stay on board at Jnb;
Sin-Mxp-Bcn on Sq...stay on board at Mxp;
Scl-Gru-Gig on La....stay on borad at Gru;
Fte-Uio-Aep on La...stay on board at Uio;
These are some that I have taken.

About three years ago we stayed on board a BA 744 at SCL on the EZE-SCL-LHR service. We spent about an hour watching them give the cabin a light clean while they served us drinks and snacks (in J) before we headed for LHR.

I was asked by crew recently if I wanted to stay onboard in BKK on a CX flight HKG-BKK-SIN. I was extremely tired so stayed in my seat.

And on the famous QF milk run CNS-TSV-MKY-ROK-GLT-BNE one stays onboard unless you want to get off to say you have been to that irport. ;)

I didn't think this was possible on flights where some of the passengers leave the flight. I thought they require everyone to deplane for security purposes and once the aircraft is cleared continuing passengers can reboard. Same principle as offloading ones bags if they fail to board. Once they're on the flight the only way to ensure all their belongings get off is to get everyone and everything off the cabin.

EK - SYD-BKK-DXB, passengers to DXB can stay onboard at BKK. I flew on the SYD-BKK sector last month and remember hearing the FA says that people flying on can stay onboard.
EK - DXB-CMB-SIN - passengers stay on board in CMB, although I don't know if EK pick up passengers at CMB.

Flying BCI-LRE-BNE you used to be able to get off and have a quick look at the old QF birds at the Founders Museum but now that they have full security at LRE you have to stay on the plane. :(

Flying on CX/KA HKG via DAC to KTM were required to stay on board during the transit. Middle of the night, exhausted and bored after 24 hours traveling at that stage ex BNE. The plane was hot and stuffy. Multiple security personnel on board supervising the cleaners who did a busy but cursory clean in the Y cabin.

yes... as other have pointed out... still possible. the CX flights transiting bkk are a common example.

JFK-YVR-HKG on CX is another one where continuing pax must stay on board.

EK - DXB-CMB-SIN - passengers stay on board in CMB, although I don't know if EK pick up passengers at CMB.

Yes they do pick up/drop off pax in CMB.

BA DOH-BAH-LHR taxiing in DOH longer than flight to BAH at times. Flight almost empties BAH then fills up again, It's also one of cheapest DOH-BAH fares. The promised 45 min stopover usually doubles.

Flew yesterday Cathay SIN - BKK - HKG passengers were not allowed to leave the plane in BKK if they were continuing to HKG.
