Just wondering if kids can join the FF program? Apart from being 'minors' (which might be a showstopper) it would seem reasonable that if they are flying then they should be eligible to earn FF points / SC's. Any thoughts / experiences on this?

Yes, they can, although there are a coupld of rules around redemptions of awards and the like:

14.3.3 Children aged two years or older will need to redeem the full number of Points required to redeem a Classic Award.

14.3.4 Infants under two years and not occupying a seat, travel without the need to redeem Points as long as the accompanying adult is travelling on a Classic Award. There is a limit of one infant per adult travelling on a Classic Award. Surcharges, charges, fees, GST and taxes (including all ticket taxes) may be payable in relation to infants as specified by Qantas at the time a Member books a Classic Award.

yes - very common. Homer's little one was a WP at 2 I think.

Boygr was signed up at a few days old. Best way is to sign up with a Woolies account as that avoids the $82.50 membership fee.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Thanks, good advice, I was wondering about how to 'avoid' the $82.50 fee!

Joined up my daughter at 28 days old from memory. Couldn't join any earlier as the website (Woolies or QFF can't remember) had a minimum age.

At the ripe old age of 9 months she's clocked up a tad under 25,000 BIB miles (Butt in Bassinet). :D

Indeed she was, largely thanks to some DONEXs. And I can confidently state that the benefits of status are totally and utterly lost on her. :)

If that's not the record for youngest WP, then I don't know what is...
I wonder how old the youngest ever LTS/LTG/WP1 would be?

My seven year old recently asked how she can become silver. I suggested taking her on a ADL-TSV JASA. SWMBO said she'd cry about being separated from mum and sister after about 5 minutes and that I'm not allowed to make her think she wants something that she doesn't need.

Of course, there is a competitive race between both children over their points balance, they both need to have more than the other.

Signed up my twins at about 3 weeks old. Tried to get sequential numbers but to no avail. They are 3 numbers apart so that's not too bad.

Made Silver at 18mths old but nothing close to Plat.

Shame I couldn't nab their SCs.

Signing up overseas as a non-resident is also free, as was the case with my kids.

This is how the 4 cylinders in the family joined.

Never thought of this before. Do infants earn QFF points and SC's even though they don't have a seat?

My girls are QFF members from the very beginning.
Only got points when I booked an own seat for them. As European the joining fee was never an issue for me.
It is never to early to start with colllecting SCs for your lifetime status.

No. And I apparently need 100 characters to submit this response. :)

Well they are called Lifetime Status Credits afterall.

Besides, when better to start your lifetime collection than at the start of your life???

Instead of like me at 25yrs old or so which has put me back a fair bit..... I only wish that I had loving parents like my kids do :D

Hi all, I registered on this site a couple of months ago and have checked out a number of things since however this is my first post. This topic caught my eye and I have just signed up both of my kids as frequent flyers, free of charge, through everyday rewards. Thanks for the great tip
