Due to frequency of visits to China I regularly purchase whatever new DVDs are available so I often have difficulty finding movies on IFE that I have not seen previously.

My guys in house regularly borrow complete TV serieseses from internet - I like to watch a complete series back to back to back for continuity.

I have every episiode of every complete series of following:

Any suggestions for TV series that might be worth a look?

In addition to the above?

- Hatfields and McCoys
- Walking Dead
- Dexter
- Fringe

I could go on....

From your list above

- Spartacus - awesomely awesome (but might get a few raised eyebrows from the pax next to you)
- Game of Thrones (only marginally less nudeness than Spartacus)
- Covert Affairs - is fun and getting darker this season

Start at Star Trek Original Series, and do not stop until you've finished Enterprise, from memory there are around 560 episodes across 28 different seasons, and it took mrs harvyk and I a year (that's watching several episodes every night) to get through them all.

Breaking Bad is a fantastic series. Quite violent but quite original. Black humour. I am addicted. Watched series 1 and 2 on my last flights to Europe.
Ditto Sopranos. Seinfeld is of course a classic and good for light releif but surely you have seen most of them already? Not that there;s anything wrong with that :)

2 HBO series not on your list, Treme & Generation Kill.

Arrested Development, Community, Dexter, Stargate Universe and definately Fringe in addition to the pretty good list you have there Cruiser Elite (which was pretty much a word for word my list of stuff worth watching)

Fantasy but no sci-fi? Not sure I'd call lost in space sci-fi either.

A couple of series that we've been enjoying are more bizarre reality shows:

Man vs food, doomsday preppers, storage wars, hoarders - those are both me and the wife.

I like things like swamp loggers and goldrush Alaska.

Something to break up your other viewing.

Also what about yes minister/prime minister?

Sent from the Throne

Boston Legal and Big Bang Theory would be two of my picks. A black comedy and a geek comedy (with just a touch of sci-fi).

Monty Python's Fling Circus for some nostalgia comedy.

Robert Hughes' The Fatal Shore. You'll either learn a lot or drift off to sleep and wake up at your destination!. Win win!.

Rake series 1 (series 2 currently showing on ABC) - best thing on the box at the moment
Any/all seasons of Spooks

+1 Walking dead
Archer
Bob's Burgers
It's always sunny in Phillidelphia
American Dad - Roger the alien is the funniest charactor on TV at the moment

+1 for The Walking Dead.

For a bit of British humour, Black Books and The IT Crowd?

All 3 seasons of Black books would barely last 1 long haul flight (forget about the return), at only 6 half hour episodes per season...
That said, it would be quite an enjoyable long haul flight.

Yes Archer is one of the funniest shows on TV at the moment.
Red Dwarf.
The League.
The Late Shows, David Letterman, conan, Jay Leno and Craig Ferguson.
naz_ Collaborators.
king of the hill.
Daria.
Beavus and Butthead.
Revolution,
The Soup,
Comic Book Men,
Saturday Night Live,
Stars Wars The Clone Wars
Curb Your Enthusiasm

You need some animation!!! Simpsons and The Family Guy

A BBC series came out a couple of years ago called Strike Back. It was great. The yanks got a hold of it and have made series 2 & 3 (though they call it series 1 & 2) and they aren't bad. Again Series 1 was very good and better than S2 or S3.
