Yeah, I got a mixed case a few weeks ago and there's a couple of the wines that are literally undrinkable. The wines are beyond underwhelming
There was a double points offer about 2 years ago though I think that was if you bought the maximum 250000 points.Only happened a month ago so won’t be soon, maybe May
Has never been better than 40% as far as I’m aware

~1.4c per point. Not bad I guess, and could definitely get more value than that on certain redemptions.40% discount when buying between 50,000 to 250,000 up to 23 April 2026. Lowest I've seen the 40% discount start at
The only issue I have with buying points is that you are not only VERY limited to seat redemptions, but you also don't earn any status & points on the points you actually paid for, which makes their value even less.~1.4c per point. If you're stupid enough not to put that spend on a points earning credit card then that is on youyou also don't earn a cent on the points you actually paid for
Agreed, buying speculatively - ie, without a specific, available redemption in mind - is generally a bad idea. But not sure what you mean by "don't earn a cent" - do you mean as compared to, say, interest on the cash you spent had you instead put the cash in a term deposit (or some other investment)? The only issue I have with buying points is that you are not only VERY limited to seat redemptions, but you also don't earn a cent on the points you actually paid for, which makes their value even less.
It rarely makes sense to buy points.
Sorry, I should clarify, I didn't mean that literally. By not earning a cent, I meant, you don't earn any status or points on money you've handed over, in advance, for flights you may not even be able to redeem on the route &/dates you want.Agreed, buying speculatively - ie, without a specific, available redemption in mind - is generally a bad idea.
